Glad you had fun.

I have been pretty happy with SmartyCam.

If you are ever interested in getting a coach, I highly recommend pro racer and coach Scott Heckert. He's from CT and has a ton of laps at LRP.

My next Lime Rock day is 4/22.
It will be recorded using the Smartycam HD 2.1
I did many runs around my house to fiddle with the layout and what I want to display.

The sound from the external microphone works every time. And there is very little to "coordinate"

My auto logging parameters on the EVO5 are set to custom, all of the following rules:
1. greater than 1000 rpm
2. greater than 10mph
3. greater than 1st gear.

I'd be happy to send you AIM data from my one time there if you're interested.

Palmer rewards precision and instructor/coach is highly recommended. LRP is a tough track to master and great fun.

You would really benefit from getting an experienced coach to work with you. I see you are a do it yourself kind of guy and trying to master track driving on your own while chasing lap times will do nothing but build (and reinforce) bad habits.

Save your money on mods, spend it on a training and development program to improve for 2019.

Good luck!

I was fortunate to have a coach the one and only time I went to LRP. It makes a big difference.

Between Lime Rock and NYST i have 24 trackdays on the calendar. So not interested in going to Palmar this year. But thank you for the suggestion. These two tracks are 70 minutes drive from my house and this is the priority for now.

I will probably add Watkins Glen next year and I really enjoyed Mosport in Canada with the Ducati. So perhaps doing something there in the future. At this time I am not interested driving 3 or more hours on the highway to trackdays.

Still fiddling with the Smartycam layout.

I am heading out to first of two racing school days with Lime Rock Driving Club (LRDC) while not a member, they agreed to take me in as a guest.
Must be my personality :-).

Anyway, I don't know what to expect.
Like many here advised, it will be my second day of full one-on-one instruction. Unlike my first day last year at NYST, this time the instructor knows the LRP track very well.

I decided to not take my slicks today. We are doing AutoX exercises between track sessions and I don't want to take my expensive Hoosier to experiment with Xcross.

Perhaps tomorrow I will bring the Hoosies.

Monday I have track day at NYST, and there I can tell if the Hoosies make a difference as I have data from many tires and tires combinations.

Regardless, the weather looks perfect for the next three track days. I am excited.
