Anyone have issues / added codes after recall?

Just had the positive battery cable recall.

Have had some weird things happen since. One being left turn signal not shutting off. Outside air temp read 95 when it was 75.

There was some new codes on ISTA due to this. Maybe my battery is shitting the bed?

More details?

Original battery? Current mileage?

Is what your attempting to figure out is if the new recall fix has exposed your already weakened batt state?

Asking because I just got letter in mail for this recall as well.

It could be a weakened battery, and now it’s exposed.

173k miles, I’m not sure if the battery is original. If I take off the terminal connections, and remove it will I see a date?

Date of the battery doesn't require anything to be removed. it's stamped on the lead part that is exposed

Put it on a charger for a bit, clear the codes and see if it comes back.

I’m going to see if ISTA allows me to check and see when the battery was registered/ or how old it is.

Careful with the disconnect, I just had my FRM module fry on a steering wheel swap.

Yes you can check registration date in ista, it'll be under service functions > voltage. I'd recommend clearing the codes and see if they come back or still encounter those issues.

Similar issues after recall was done -

'08 E93 and since I got it back:

-Clock keeps resetting
-Service light on
-Memory seat resets
-Christmas lights on downshift
-ABS light on at times

It's been about 4 days and as of last night, brake warning lights are on.

I'd like to verify if the entire cable was replaced from battery to front or if a certain section was spliced in behind the dash. I suspect the latter but what the hell do I know. It's getting taken back to dealer first thing Tuesday.

the recall does not include replacing the complete battery cable. A new end is spliced into cable that feeds the front fuse box. The fuse box is replaced only if cable end is burned/melted...

I’ve had the same symptoms.

How old is your battery? Sometimes this recall can expose a weak battery.

I cleared all the codes I had. Has been fine since. But I will need a new battery, as mine is 100k miles old.

Less than a year which is why I'm stumped.

Dealer is rechecking currently and last update was over voltage fault which could be a bad alternator.

Could the recall expose a fading alternator? Is the dealer giving me a solid yank? These details and more on the next, unsolved mysteries.

You can keep an eye on alternator voltage output via hidden screen.

Turn a/c , on and off, radio, sunroof, windows. Check and see if the voltage dips significantly when turning those accessories on.
