I read your post too quickly. Yes, you answered my question and it make sense. Looking forward to see that the 71R can do. But first I need to finish off the MPSC2 I have on the front. |

I bet you the 71 will be 1 full second faster. Prove me wrong. ;-)

I have seen here that ppl compare the RR to 71R and other fake "200 for real 100" tires. So the 71R with extra 20mm over the Hoos (take off eBay) and new RR from TR should be easily in the 1:37 range. And if course I want it to be faster than that Hoos 265/35/19 still has my PB at 1:35.7 two years ago. |

It was a very good day at NYST on June 2nd.
The car felt terrific, it felt again good to push it around and just enjoyable to drive. It was not fast at best lap 1:39.7 but that was mostly a tire issue. Front I was on eBay MPSC2 265/35/19 and rear I was on 275/35/19 Ecsta 720. The MPSC2 were on their third day but because of my radiator hoses these where only half days. While the tread was still good. They were used from eBay and I already had a good amount of heat cycles. My main objective was to setup the car suspension and I happy to say I have archived that and it is time to start mounting my good tires from Tire Rack. Here are two laps at decent speed: |

The June 2nd had its usual trackday dramas. This year looks like there is no trackday without something strange happening. And yesterday was no exception.
First, one of my front MPSC2 fell a part in a strange way. Second, my new AIM 25Hz GPS stopped working on the forth session and got stuck on "searching" eliminating any useful lap times and track information. When I got home, I connected my GPS08 and that worked. Then I reconnected the GPS09 and now it worked fine. Go figure. I am discussing the issue with AIM today. After the MPSC2 disintegrated, I mounted my spare fronts with FFI500 275/30/19 and finished the day in a light drizzle. The FFI500 felt good, with plenty of feedback, but they are not fast tires. |

Some solid 1:40 laps at NYST yesterday.
It was my first time on the RE-71R 255/35/19 up front. I did not notice that much difference between that and other tires. The grip up front did not matched the R7 or the undersized RR (235/35/19) In short, great option for $136/Tire at TR on sale, but not better than 285/30/19 RE-050A also at $134/tire. On the rear I had Ecsta 720 275/35/19, also 200 tw tire. Car was nice and balanced and I enjoyed pushing it, but it was not that fast of a tire. |

First few sessions I was terrified at 2:34
Started to increase Low Speed damping to stabile the car. also +2 on front rebound. +1 on rear LS Wing from 10* to 11* relative to ground. Measured some Porsches in the garage and some are close 14* but most on 10* Car feels good now and I stopped hyperventilating and enjoying at 2:14. After lunch will just try to work on entry speeds. Tires are hot and I am melting rubber, but not moving around too much. Getting 1.2g in the turns. So far so good. This is not NYST or PMP, that's for sure |

Wing at 10* until changed to 6* Heat management top speed was not my priority. I mostly focused on trying to increase entry speeds Lifting in the S-es apex entry short shifting 4th-5th-6th-7h to stay low in the RPM. Driver confidence Many times there was a AMG GTR, Lambo, GT3 coming behind and I did not wanted to race them to the inner loop. Lots of teams where practicing for the GT4 and Super Trofeo races in the next 2 weeks and you did not want to mess up their lines - if possible. Passing was permitted on the straights, but in turns point-by was mandatory. |

woh, 1:37.3 and 1:37.7 with passenger at NYST.
Finally a sunny day and no car issues. Front 255/35/19 RE-71R 200tw tire Rear 275/35/19 Ecsta 720 200tw tire both on third track say, so not new. RE-71R gave a last hoora end of the day 1:39.x looking tired. New Pagid RSL29 yellow pads on Front OEM rotors. Rotors measured 29mm and 30mm when I got home Rear are still CCM-R Very happy with the tire wear |
