Akra. ftw... my Supersprint straight pipe was raspy af but sounded bad ass but it was a straight pipe... add too many resonators and it'll be too quiet. The mix of the titanium sound with the resonated/catted evo is 👌
Even just the akra rear muffler with stock x'er is awesome! Light weight, super easy to switch out, can't go wrong... People want a lot of $ for them, but if you can find a system at the right price don't hesitate.

If you can get your hands on one, the quad resonated x pipe from borla was overall pretty good about avoiding rasp and drone as well

Did you end up putting a different axle back on? I want to buy an BW xpipe w/resonators and HFC and pair it with my uuc corsa, but I HATE rasp/buzziness. Would love to know if that raps went away with a different system

Also curious if creating a custom 3" titanium Xpipe with either dual or quad resonators paired with MPE would improve the sound and rasp. Anyone have expertise here?
Right now I have a catless titanium Xpipe with dual resonators. But paired with MPE the rasp gets irritating. Maybe the solution is to add 200 cell cats in the secondary position. Or ditch the MPE.

I recently added the RKP street X Pipe with my MPE and there is some rasp. I have been thinking about replacing the MPE with something else but haven't done much research yet.
Cold start and low RPM's, I can't say there's much difference in sound between stock and RKP street but definitely noticeable at higher RPM's. Last edited by Crazy8.M3; 07-23-2020 at 04:43 PM.. |

I did, I was able to find a Bimmerworld exhaust that worked perfectly with the Xpipe. Though louder in some ways all the rasp was eliminated and sounds 10000x better. I was able to sell my MPE though Craigslist $300 more than I paid for the Xpipe and axle back exhaust. So for me it was a win. As others have stated its the design of the MPE that gives you that rasp. With stock Xpipe there still is a very little rasp but sounds good. Once the Xpipe is changed out... that rasp is amplified. Good luck, its worth the swap. |

I love the Bimmerworld Xpipe, I just picked it up used locally with the HFCs already installed. So far they have been flawless. But will be on the watch as you are not the first to say something like that. |
