No additives. Strictly against that.

No race gas, only Shell, BP and on track Sunoco Unleaded 93 were used.

Hope it's just an anomaly. Thanks for doing the comparison test.
The ones I put in 13k miles ago were OEM WPC treated rod bearings. Maybe this might have something to do with the lead? No idea, just speculation

Could be, but this is the 4th oil change since brand new bearings that has shown lead, so unless the Mid-Ohio on track Sunoco is mixing it up, I wouldn't think so.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! Interested to see what the Ravenol (5 track days) looks like. I'll be sure to post up the results in this thread. If anybody has any other oil suggestions, I'm all ears!

He's got multiple consecutive reports with lead. It's not the gas unless he is only going to one station that is somehow continuously contaminating all of their pumps.

My mistake, I didn't look at the rest. Other than rod/main bearings, what other parts of the engine prior to 2011 had lead?

Cooling can be a weak point for the E9x so lots of people upgrade. You can either run out and buy lots of parts or try a few easy things. First, make sure you're not running some odd engine oil weight (like 5W-40) if you don't have a good reason to. Next, verify there are no debris blocking air flow to any of the cooling systems. There is at least one free modification to do that helps - removing the unused hood vent which should help a little bit with temperatures. Finally, minimize the engine revs by staying in higher gears under braking and going into corners. You might lose up to a second per lap, but it really helps avoid overheating.
Hello!

Honestly, I did not pay attention to gauge. I only noticed, when the warning came up to center display.

Was anyone at Road America with Northwoods Shelby this past weekend? Talked to some friends who attended and apparently a guy with a Camaro Z/28 wrecked pretty bad at the kink.

Nice! I've yet to get onto VIR.. it's a solid 5 hours away which scares me. I need to get on that truck/trailer life haha I have been on the track via a "hot lap" when BMW was trying to see their M performance school. It's a wild track for sure

Nevermind, found it.

"The rear got loose coming out of the kink.
Almost got it back but slid into Armco rail,
then glanced of to the other side of the track and hit the jersey barrier.
The first hit was at over 100mph but I had six point harness and a hans unit.
I walked away with minor rib bruises.
Took the track an hour and a half to replace Armco barriers
I feel so bad loosing my Camaro but that's why you buy track insurance."

Wow. He made it out of there without significant injury. Pretty amazing.

That strut brace looks pretty bent, i wonder if it helped take some of the damage.

Sounds like he glanced it rather than hitting head-on, but the brace does look bent. The seats and harnesses no doubt helped here.

It was only my first time at the track last year and I wasn't running timing. And to be fair, my track car isn't my E92... I track an E30.

Ouch that's not a fun thing to see happen. The kink has the history of doing this. Every time I go through the kink it's mentally hard to forget what could go wrong.

Speed sf at Laguna seca On 08/10 (Friday) is $220 and they are offering 10% off. I think I'll do a double day.
Thought I'd post in case anyone is interested.
