M3 800m / half mile
I just completed a 800m half mile drag event. Ran against an m4 with a jb4 on.
I destroyed the m4 as he was sitting spinning a bit but it was a clear victory for me as the m4 could not catch me or stay near to me by the end of the 800m stretch. I did a trap speed of 221 km/h or 137 miles per hour in a time of 20.6 seconds. The m4 did 234km/h or 145 miles per hour. The car has a full catless exhaust and an aggressive tune on 104 octane. I launched the car with Mdm on and EDC in sport with every day BridgeStone tyres. The traction kicked in slightly but I wasnt sitting spinning at least. The altitude was basically sea level and the air nice a cold. How does my times and speed hold up? How can I improve. Last edited by Dakar Bam; 08-05-2018 at 06:19 PM.. That is true. You are right however most of the drivers are treating it like a half mile drag strip.
If you finish the distance 1st surely you are the winner of that race? This event is not for setting high speed trap records but for the bmw and Mercedes guys who want to see what happens after the 1/4 mile |

I do a lot of airstrip events and my goals is to always race against a faster opponent and beat it to the finish line. Yes they end up with a higher trap speed but so what. It's a race. And there's nothing better than beating a faster/more powerful opponent. I love how the e92 DCT launches with Euro MDM. Very little wheelspin and the car takes off in total control everytime. Here's one of my funnest airstrip events:

Longboarder what was your technique for launching? did you use launch control, or did you ease into the throttle to manage wheel spin?

With my old M3 I had to ease into the throttle as I was making around 600 hp. Now with my new (to me) stock M3 I mash the throttle to hit the "kickdown" button with MDM on and the revs raise quick to around 3,500 rpm and the DCT drops the clutches and the car takes off!

When I did ther half mile at heavens landing GA. It's cemement and I was able to use full traction off stock USDM Launch Control. I trapped 150mph on pump 93 I would have liked to had done a race gas run but just ran out of time to do so.

Ever since the 991 TTS made 1/2 mile racing Hellcats a whole family affair, I can't picture doing it with the E90...
And yet my sons still don't think I'm cool. |

This APR "Stage 5" (?) RS-7 was fun. He was showing off 10.1 timeslips prior, so I assume it wasn't in perfect form.
I've got GTR, Huracan, etc videos, but they're all just brutal. |

I'm bringing my i8 to a half mile event in October and it's amazing how close it is to a stock e92 DCT. 0-60mph, 1/8 mile ET / MPH and 1/4 mile ET & MPH are all within 0.1 second and 1mph based on my vbox testing. So maybe we can use the i8 info as a proxy to what a stock M3 would run.
