E93 owners... phone question
I'm looking for a mic for my phone that will actually work with the top down and windows down. I have an Android phone. I am currently using a BlueAnt T1 Bluetooth that is supposed to have wind suppression, but it's still difficult for others to hear me. I've tried the in-car Bluetooth, but it isn't much better, have to put the windows up and the windscreen.
I would even consider a wired unit with a boom mic and a foam end piece! In fact that might be the best. Really don't need the Bluetooth. Any suggestions?? What do the rest of you use? thanks. Steve |

I've heard that http://www.theboom.com/ headsets actually work in convertibles, but have not tried one myself. Would appreciate if you let us know when you find the best one.

Have you tried this with the (optional) wind deflector?
I didn't want to spend the $400+ for one of those, at first, until I met someone that actually had one in his E93. And...I really wish I'd bought one on Day One instead of waiting 8 months. It cuts down on the entire wind noise inside the car, plus makes the air conditioning's cooled air stay inside. And with lower wind noise, the other parties on the phone can hear much better. - V .

I tried the Motorola Sliver Elite and it was.. OK.. my BlueAnt Q3 is better. Still searching....
I do have the wind deflector and it is GREAT! It really extends the season for using the car with the top down, and for some of the ladies, it really helps with keeping the hair from getting too windblown. With the windows rolled up and the rear screen up, the sound is OK with an ear piece, but for extended conversation, I really don't want to have the windows up or rear screen up. I enjoy the breeze. I had the screen on my E46 vert, and when I picked up my E93 at the Performance Center, I had one shipped there, so I could have it for the drive home. It's a little more difficult to raise while driving than it was with the E46 one, but I added a black nylon 1" strap to the middle and now I just reach back and grab the strap and pull it up. I'll send a photo when I get a chance. |
