Wow. Colossal damage to the roads this year compared to last year. Seriously, one has to wonder what is so hard to comprehend in terms of avoiding the annual infrastructure carnage in this city.

Forget the fact that you may not have driven your vehicle during the winter, or possibly not as spiritedly as you would have liked if your M sees winter action. The real question is: can you actually avoid hitting the potholes or craters that are all over the place. The road conditions are about as bad as I can ever recall having seen before.

Crater Warning

Southbound on Calg Trail just after the intersection with Whitemud Eastbound.

Left most lane has massive deep crater, stay to the right and run the line

This one will cause carnage.

More updates to come

98 Ave around the 75St area is a joke as well... between watching for other drivers, deep puddles and potholes, city driving turns into a slalom contest !!!

The intersection at 111 st and 23 ave is a complete gong show.

Picked up the M today in Phoenix, AZ. The drive so far has been fantastic. I stopped by the dealer in Scottsdale to get a copy of the service history. I don't want to disclose how exactly that unfolded but they would not provide me with a paper copy. However I may have what is takes to satisfy RIV.

The V8 at full boil is a religious experience.

Hey Guys, If anyone has their stock 219M or 220M wheels up for sale (even including winter tires possibly), please PM me. I'm looking for a winter setup for my soon-to-arrive 1M! Thanks.

Crater Warning

Left lane Calgary Trail southbound under the 23 Ave overpass.

Stay out of lane, it is a disaster. Middle you can dodge holes and the right too.

I don't think I want to spend that kind of loot on skins with the goat trails we have here in Etown.

I am ordering a set, but waiting a little. Just talked to Theo at Karmac and he had two clients (one with a new 550i) come in with bent suspension parts owing to the craters on the road. Not really sure when I will get the M3 out with all the damage on the road.

I got about 15,000km from the Pirelli PZero's and think I likely would have gotten more if I had managed to show some restraint from red lights...lol. With all the hype on the Michelin's though, I am definitely thinking of trying them. Going to talk to Tire Rack today about the 295's in the rear to see if they think I can squeeze them in without rubbing. I had to swap 295 for 285 in the rear with the PZero's, and don't want to pay for that mistake again.

Oddly (?), the Michelins (265/295) come in cheaper than the PZero's (265/285).

We might get them out in July if we are lucky! I would like to the goat trails to clear up enough so I can put on my Eisenmann race I bought. But I think I will be waiting for a while for that to happen.

Cleared the RIV recall hurdle with iPhone pics of the "Warranty Vehicle Inquiry" doc from US dealer. The last step is the inspection at Crappy Tire.

I think there will be quite a few orders. Anyone have the final "loaded" price tag of these cars? If its in the ~65k range, I bet a tonne of them will sell over the 335.

Not sure about price, though I heard this weekend from someone that Calgary BMW has one in the showroom.

On another note, that new M5 concept looks nice. I think the back end is not quite as good looking as the front end. Hopefully Vorsteiner or some other company can rectify that with a diffuser or something.

It's going to be interesting to see/hear the mods for that beast.
