Calling all M3 Owners Without EDC!
Hey guys,
I just replaced some suspension parts on my 335 with M3 parts and one of them is the M3 strut brace. It's really bugging me with the cap that fits on the passenger's side over the strut tower. You can see in post number 6 how the fitment of the cap is totally different in the pictures. http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=184925 Will someone please take a picture of yours so I can see how it fits? Thanks guys!!

I don't have EDC, so I went out and snapped some pics for you. However, be aware that I have an E93 so I don't know how that might effect things. Anyway, mine definitely looks different from yours on the left. Both sides have the same size notch in the brace.

Thank you very much.
I really think that I got the strut brace for edc option. Do you see a part number on the passenger's side anywhere?

I don't see a part number. Since you have had the parts off the car and in your hand, do you know where on the part I would look for one?
Also, looking at your link to realOEM in your thread, it seems like the two parts might be identical other than that little rectangular hole. But maybe that is just in the drawing (what's it for)? Maybe instead of right/left like they are labled on realOEM, they are actually bi-directional, and one number is for the EDC cars, one is for non-EDC? Just a blind guess tho. |

the right one does not fit on the left and vise versa. There has to be another part number for this somewhere.

I would appreciate whatever you could do, but I understand that you wouldn't want to dissasemble anything. It's quite easy though. Once you pop the cap then all you need is a 13mm socket to take off the nuts over the studs and the 3 nutts that hold the strut brace on over the tower. It's easy to take off and easy to put on. This info would be so great since the Evan@tischer is completely stumped. I'll take mine off right now to show you where my part number is.

OK, it litteraly took me 5 minutes.
Whatever you guys can do would help me out greatly. I even had to take off the microfilter carrier and I believe you don't even have to do that. All you need to do is use a 13mm socket to get the bolts off. Once you get the strut brace off then turn it upside down. Does your part number match mine? I really appreciate this guys!!

I also noticed the number "2" on the under side of the strut brace as well.
If you have the same part number as myself then do you have the number 2 as well?

Well Mr. 5, I would like to help but I just don't feel comfortable pulling mine apart at this time. Its not that I don't think I can handle it, I just would prefer to leave it unmolested by my hands for now. I know there's got to be folks on here who can get you this info. Maybe ask the folks in this thread:
http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=169232 I can't tell if they have had the strut tower brackets completely off, but they could probably do so very easily. Of course, I'm not sure if these are EDC or non-EDC (or if that even matters). |

Looks like you've got an EDC ring to me: Compare with the following pic of a press car with EDC: http://www.m3post.com/goodiesforyou/m3wall/P0035786.JPG
Are you sure the left side ring doesn't fit on the right side either? Best regards, south

Bump for some 5 minute socket power.
The sooner I see a pic of the part number, the sooner I can order it. Thanks in advance.

If you would have read the thread, I received every single part that is displayed in your link. If you look at this link, you will see that there is only one option for the right side strut brace. This model number is only for the EDC option. It does not give you the option for non EDC. I NEED NON EDC!! Somebody please help me!! This is why I need a real world example. Does the part number match the part number that is on the underside of the non EDC strut brace or is it something different?

I can't believe nobody has non EDC here.
It really really isn't that hard to take off the bolts.
