2009 Pricing

Looking for some opinion on pricing. What you think would be a good price for these 2 models?

2009 E92 SG on Red – Asking $59k
Miles – 9000 miles
Loaded with Sunroof

2009 E92 Black on Black – Asking was $55k but now lowered to $53k
Miles – 26k miles
Loaded with Sunroof and no Prem Sound

I did offer $47.5k for the black one but they countered with $51k when their asking was $55k. Ideally, I want the lower mileage SG but I doubt I can get it in the lower 50s.

Black sounds like a good buy if you can get it for 50 with an ext warranty. If it isn't CPO see if they will add the platinum coverage into the deal which actually covers more than cpo. Good luck.

I'd say that's a great deal. Better than mine. I paid 54k 2009 19k miles with ZTP and ZPP

Is the quote from a BMW dealer? If so, it is CPO? According to KBB, the retail price is $50.6k and private of $47.6k. However this is only a reference point and will depend on actual equipment, condition, color preference, etc. How long as the car been for sale? I suspect the price can be lower but would need more information before giving you a range.

It seems like all of the M3's that you've looked at have the M.R. Is this your preference? If not, use this in your negotiations as a lot of buyers do require the CF roof.

Their asking was $55k and has been on sale for about a week. Its actually a consignment car from a non-BMW dealer. Moon roof isn't my preference but most of the M3s here don't have CF.

Are they providing a BMW extended warranty? If not, I would drive the price down to the upper 40's.

The toughest part is removing the emotional side of wanting it now. There will be other vehicles but you may need to expand your search radius. Plus, IMO, you are coming up to the prime season as a buyer for an M3. A lot of people switch the focus to winter type vehicles.

^^ This

OP, I am in your area too, and keep tabs on what is for sale around here. Despite what any dealer might tell you, the demand for them here is high and comes with a premium.

Thanks for the advice guys. I guess I'll have to tough it out. Since its a consignment car, the dealer was told not to go any lower. The search goes on!

Was it via Matt LaCross/Munich Evolution?

I just looked at that one. It for MY09, it is fully loaded. A few other observations, there are some aftermarket parts on it. This would include the painted front reflectors, window tint, front grille and possibly exhaust system.

If consignment, I can now understand why the higher price. Most likely for payoff plus mods. It looks like it was well maintained and does have low mileage. I would still stick to upper 40's.

Whether you want it or not, use the factor that it doesn't have the CF roof has a negotiation tool. For most owners, especially with a white car, this is a must.

Are you referring to pic#17? I mentioned this to a salesperson there and am surprised they haven't fixed it.

I don't recall the picture number but it was only a single interior photo and obvious contrast to the surrounding photos. Just my dry sense of humor.

I just spoke with a rep there on the car and this is what she had to say:

"Here's what we have Price $ 57,400 + tax/license
$5000 on your trade

Brings us to $52,400 + tax & License

With Tax $58,202 Out the door + trade payoff

with $10,000 down @ 1.49% for 60 months your payment will be approximately $938
With $15,000 down under same parameters = $851

We worked this with our General Sales Manager and selling the car at this price we are essentially selling it for just a few 100 over what we own the car for."

Seems a bit high to me, but it is a 2011.

Seems high to me as well. At this point it is two model years old. In searching for a used M3, having patience is the key.
