The DCT is an automatic, as it can shift automatically. It would take her about 1 second to get used to driving it as such. I would love it if my wife got into driving.

I have the opposite problem. My wife hates my M3. I actually wanted her to use it as a DD since she only has a 4 mile commute. She drove it for 4 months and hated every minute. So I got her an X3.

Good problem to have. Now my M3 is weekend car.

fellas you should teach your wife to love manual or just driving. 2 day school with the wife was one of the best times we had. but we also do alot of other motor sports together karting, track days etc.. makes modding the car a family event

some mornings as she leaves for work before i do, ill hear the m3 fire up vs the x5m. those are my x5m days

take her to bmw performance driving school, may be she had the m3 in most aggressive/sport with edc fully on, aggressive /jerky shifts ..i love the m3 as a dd

I don't have that problem with the new M3, but back when I had the M Coupe, she borrowed the M5 for it's heated seats (2 years ago), and hasn't let go of the keys since. The agreement so far has been that the E92 is mine.

My wife and I used to have this problem so we ended up buying a G55 so I could have fun and feel like a billionaire when she takes out my M3.

haha yeah I know my wife brags how she cant wait for the summer to get it 150+ mph on the Autobahn while im in the field for work...i know what you mean brother

OP, in your particular case it probably has more to do with being an e93 in SoCal than a DCT.

If you find that you're only getting the m3 as your car on the rainy days, that's when you need to sit her down for a heart to heart.

Six months into ownership and my wife refuses to even
seat in the driver's seat.
She rode in it as passenger once or twice since the car got back
in the US!
When I ask her when she will take it for a ride all she says is "I dont know...
someday..."

She digs her X3 so much that she pays little attention to the M3
