Left (downshift) DCT Paddle on steering wheel not working

Hello all,

About 2 weeks ago my downshift paddle stopped working intermittently and now does not work at all. I happened to have a brand new set of OEM shift paddles so since that was free I went ahead and swapped them for the ones on my steering wheel. That did not fix it. I then did some reading and saw that the next likely culprit was the SZL (the steering wheel air bag clock spring) so I purchased a brand new OEM unit and installed it. Still did not fix my issue. Today I went ahead and removed the steering wheel for the third time and tried to do some diagnosing of the multifunction buttons that the paddle modules run through. I checked continuity and I had no issues from the paddle themselves, to the left button board, through to the right button board, but the only "odd" thing I could find was that only one of the pins that connects to the upshift paddle module on the right hand button module (middle pin) had continuity to a wire (3 or 4 - cant remember exactly) from the board to the connector to the SZL. I hope that makes sense but before I buy used or new multifunction buttons I wanted to pick the brains here on the forums. Please let me know your thoughts!
