Has anyone else seen this other thread?

This guy did dyno runs before/after with the Haimus… and seemingly lost 2 hp?

Any who is getting their's now… Could you please make sure to do dyno runs?

2hp????? Different dynos used on different days, one using STD and the other SAE so the data means nothing.

My point exactly… Which is why we need a legit before/after dyno session.

My butt dyno is happy- more perceived power then I expected. As for sound- the engine has a different growl (or tone) to it under acceleration, but with a Corsa rear (Stage 2) I can't hear the plenum unless I have a barrier next to me or my windows rolled up.

No idea if the updated AlpineMSS tune with CF Plenum "option" adds anything in terms of additional intake growl.

So, everyone is okay with possibility of small power/torque loss, as long as the noise is amazing?

Is there anyone who's received theirs, but hasn't installed it yet?

Installed mine the other day, fitment took a bit of finessing (Haimus plans to release instructions)

My butt dyno tells me there is a small gain, though not a night & day difference. Definitely louder when flat-footing 4k+ rpm

Full akra setup.

I don't think anyone would be okay with any loss of power.

Why hasn't any single person done a before/after dyno run on a novel design product claiming to increase hp/tq?

Imagine if every one of us did dyno runs… We would have a pool of data to consider which other mods may increase/decrease any potential gains.

I'm guessing because there are less than a handful that have been delivered.

It's got a completely different velocity stack design (equally proportioned vertical tubes, instead of curved angled trumpets) and larger overall inner volume… Unlike any other plenum.

Those are serious changes to what BMW engineers came up with for these refined machines.

Before/after dyno should go without saying.

Brief impressions of mine - noise, goes without saying much more like a race car once the revs get above about 3500. But even below that you hear noises from the engine you didn't hear before as you modulate the gas pedal. Power (or rather, torque) - feels like it pulls better from low revs and spools up quicker, which suggests more torque at low rpm. Makes the car easier to drive around town and when in 6th or 7th gear. Not a huge difference at all, but enough to notice, and in the zone where you will use it most. Without a dyno run I can't be sure if that's real or just confirmation bias in my head, but I'm happy.

Did a quick sound comparison video: 1st-3rd gear pull same route

Subtle, but noticeable

If anyone of you want to drive your car to Michigan, I'll pay for the dyno time. Or if you're in Texas, I have a friend who owns a dyno in Dallas, I'll tell him to hook you up. I'm going to be testing a local car with a Eventuri plenum with a before and after pull. I'll make another thread about that. But I don't think there is much to be had. But I can be wrong and until we dyno it, we won't know.

I'm in Cali, so too far away… but, if anyone takes you up on that… I'd be down to contribute to that dyno time as well.

I'll drive my car up to Michigan if you hook me up with those headers you're making 😄…before and after dyno needed on that too

Heyy check out this Air Cyclone thing I've discovered… Apparently its supposed to increase horsepower and gas mileage, and make a cool noise!

Should we all buy it and rely on our butt dynos for confirming that it does what it proclaims?

Or should we put our cars on a real dyno before/after installation to test a novel design product 🤔

I have 7 of these in my intake tract and I boost higher than a ESS 650 kit.
