Sorry for bumping this old thread but i think my Problem relates to the cables described above.
After installing the psw with display in a 2012 DCT M3 the whole dash lights up with a ton of faults. The psw does not work, no lights, just nothing. After reading out the fault memory i could see that my PT-CAN is just dead (see pics attached; sorry for Germany pics) I think i havent pressed the black miniature connectors not strong enough together. Could this lead to all this kind of faults? Any other ideas? Thanks a heap! https://s18.directupload.net/images/190723/9rjzdbxy.jpg https://s18.directupload.net/images/190723/9aw5rohu.jpg https://s18.directupload.net/images/190723/743y8t8t.jpg https://s18.directupload.net/images/190723/hwp4f23c.jpg

Thanks m8, you pointed me in the right direction.
The connection from the psw harness, which connects the PT-CAN back to the car, was loose... The second fault was indeed the miniature connections, they werent pressed together strong enough. The PSW is working like a charm now

I recently got mine installed with the new hub(?) that comes with the kit. Now the steering column is creaking every time I turn the wheel left or right. Does anyone know a fix for this?
