Would 18x10 Work Meisters be too heavy for track use?

I've been looking into a squared set of track/street rims for my E92 M3 and came across these Work Meister M1s: https://www.fitmentindustries.com/bu...spension=Stock

I don't mind the classic S1s either, but I'd stick with non-aggressive offsets that would fit a stock setup. The Idlers 911s have run these in the past at their track meets so I know some folks track them. The high-end forged Volks and forged BBS tend to run about $1k+ more for a set, or $2-$3k more for the 3p BBS wheels like the LMs and E88s.

I like the Meister M1s since they're a mesh wheel like the BBS E88s which are on of my favorite looks on the M3, like the Schirmer E92 builds. However, E88s are really expensive and prone to bending and cracking with street use, so I'd rather not run a set.

Anyone have experience or insight on Work Wheels for occasional track use?

I've never ran these wheels on my M3... but I had a set for my 240SX with SR20DET engine swap 20 years ago.

They're not very light but durability wise, they're very good. I ran a few track days on them and they held up fine. I ended up going with lighter Enkei Racing S 2 piece wheels in 16" size to be lighter and go faster. Those Enkei wheels were from the early 90s and weren't in production even 20 years ago.

Again, this is 20 years ago. I haven't seen many Work Meister wheels since!

That's about what I figured from my research, I definitely haven't seen many sets these days for sure

Not the same wheel, but I had a set of 18x10 Work Meister S1 3P and they didn't clear the front brakes.

Not many 18" 3pc step lip wheels will clear, e88 will but most won't I believe.

Heads-up with Work wheels, a lot of them even in 19" application have trouble fitting BBKs. The Meisters in 19" wouldn't clear a 380mm Brembo upfront.

Are there any 3p rims that fit on BBKs?

Look in to Fikse. The Profil 10 is a mesh style wheel.

Been looking at 3p wheels from Work & SSR to fit over my Harrop bbk

Have these face templates for Work S13P/M13P & SSR MS3.

The SSR MS3 should clear most BBK

Print the Work templates in A3 and SSR in A4 - Make sure you select actual size option

Ah, I hadn't heard of the SSR MS3 before, I'll check those out. In general do the SSR SP1s have better BBK clearance than Work Meister S1s?

It seems like it would but not 100% sure. Better to just get a template from your SSR dealer and compare with the Work

That’s probably a good call. Looks like the SSR Instagram at least has an instance of an E92 M3 on MS3s:
