Stock Dyno for my 2012 E92 - 361 whp

Hey guys, I wanted to get a dyno up for my car before I start performance mods on it. I chose specialty Z as the dyno place solely based on the fact that they were close, had a dynojet, and worked on my cousins car lol. They are a Nissan Z specialty shop and do nothing for BMW's. Anyway this dyno was for mostly my info and I thought the car was pretty strong. I used the mototune method to break my car in aka no break in at all. So here it goes.

Runfile_001: 3rd gear - Max Power 341.81 Max Torque = 242.76

Runfile_002: 3rd gear - Max Power 343.35 Max Torque = 243.91

Runfile_003: 4th gear - Max Power 358.71 Max Torque = 262.22

Runfile_004: 4th gear - Max Power 359.94 Max Torque = 261.54

Runfile_005: 4th gear - Max Power 361.88 Max Torque = 262.44

Runfile_006: 5th gear - Max Power 362.65 Max Torque = 270.78

Highest whp was achieved in 5th gear but I took the best 4th gear run which was at 361 whp. This is a stock car with no engine or exhaust mods whatsoever. All runs were back to back with very little time in between.

Correction is set at STD and with an SAE Correction the power is about 5HP less at 355.

That is a strong stocker, my car with bolt on's didn't hit those #'s, on that dyno.

There is now some discussion about how the 2011 and 2012 models may have revised software that improves power, though I think the jury is still out on this explanation for what many would call "outlier" cars.

Wow, so you hit 377 whp on the exact same dyno with bolt ons? Or was it just the same type of dyno? If it was the exact same dyno, OP's car must make at least 20 HP more than yours, stock for stock.

I think the real difference here is:

The newer cars do not have a charcoal filter stock, which is equivalent of an older car with a drop in filter. And using STD correction for that extra 5hp bump.

The AFR trace and timing I've seen of the new cars stock ....is no different then previous years. I believe Sal@Evolve has seen the same as myself on this topic.

I hit 355whp SAE on Specialty Z's dyno, I did 377 SAE on VF's dyno, different motors though.

Interesting. My stock 2011 dyno'd at 363 STD on a dyno jet. Used the same break in method. As Tom said-seems like a trend.
