2011 M3 Dyno Results | Macht Schnell, Challenge Sport/AE Axleback

LondonGentlemen's 2011.75 E90 ZCP M3 stopped by for a visit yesterday, and to do some shopping. With a freakishly high baseline (also on BBI's dynojet) at 363whp, this E90 M3 has a lot of potential.

Modifications include the following:

Vehicle Info
2011.75 E90 M3 ZCP, 6SPD

Performance Modifications
- Macht Schnell Stage 2 Intake Charge Kit
- Macht Schnell Performance Underdrive Pulleys
- Challenge Stainless Steel X-Pipe Sports (High Flow Catalysts)
- AE Performance Section 3 Exhaust System
- UUC SSK w/ DSSR

Aesthetic
- BMW ZCP Wheels, Umbra Gray Powdercoat
- Performance Carbon Rear Spoiler
- BMW Performance Carbon Front Splitters
- BMW Performance Steering Wheel
- BMW M Aluminum Pedals
- PrePainted Reflectors
- Matte Black Kidney/Side Grilles, Hood vents

Evolve tune is coming next, 400whp is on the horizon.

Enjoy!

I wouldn't look at the peak numbers but the gains achieved! Those are some decent gains without being tuned

Exactly. Stock DME does a very good job at adaptation. Better fuel and a proper tune should provide some interesting results.

2011+ M3s tend to read higher from what I have been seeing. Do you guys have any idea why? has anything been changed on the newer models??

I've been meaning to start a new thread on this. The 2011s are definitely seeing higher numbers than earlier models.

We have a few theories on this. One can be that now that E9X M3 production is coming to a close, BMW is being a bit less conservative (can be in software, tolerances, or both) than seen during original vehicle launch.

Here's one of the more extreme examples seen on an MY08 M3:

This particular M3 dynoed very low from the beginning, coming to us in preparation for supercharging. With a quick look through service records and confirmed by autologic - it appeared that this M3 never returned to the dealership for updates since purchased.

While still on the dyno, both the DME and DCT were brought up to date with 2.45 and run again - seeing gains throughout the entire powerband.

Again, this is only a theory. Simply food for thought.

Thanks. I had an early 08 beforehand so maybe that's my reward for my customer loyalty.

What is your build date? Mine is 05/11, I'm hoping my car has the same DNA.

When you guys say 2011's do you mean model years or actual build years?

That is a great question. I would assume it's model year 2011 but since this is an urban myth at this point, it probably doesn't matter. I'm covered either way. I gotta say, if this is a myth it's one that I'm hearing quite frequently now and the sources are becoming credible.
