Thanks

Also, when I go into "settings" , software version page, it is empty, it shows nothing... could this be a hacked version installed ?

There is a post in E90post that you can download the Navigation CIC data. You will need to figure out how to generate an FSC Code to allow the update to be accepted as well.

As above, I got 2020 Australia maps for my CIC on E90Post, was the second time I’ve done it.

Updated my car from the original 2011 maps to the then-current 2018 maps when I got my car in mid-2018.

Both times was easy and worked perfectly. I don’t use the integrated nav often (Waze on CarPlay is my nav of choice), but handy to have it there and up to date.

I have not used my CIC navigation routing once since I owned it but I like to have it up to date!

I too have this habit about keeping factory nav up to date, despite never actually using it

I paid $115. The download went smoothly from a usb. I admit I hardly ever use it but my original 2009 couldn't even find my current home address and the neighborhood was built in 2007! It works fine now but yes it is old tech.
