Thanks for the input. I have used the ST street performance (OEM) on the track before and they handle the heat quite well. My only concern is that they only lasted 3 weekends. On the plus side, they are quiet and I would not have to change pads just for the track.

They'll for sure last longer with the bbk; how much longer I can't say. I got about 5 weekends per set, more like 3 with slicks. But depends on track and driver.

Thanks! This is what I decided to go with. I placed an order with Ahmed @ Vivid Racing yesterday. Looking forward to receiving and trying them out on the track. Now I have to do some research on which track pads to go with.
I am running the pads that came with the kit for street driving and Pagid RS-29 on the track. I picked up the Pagid from M-World on their monthly group buy.

I have run a Pagid RS29/29 combo but I find that gives me too much rear bias on brake balance.I have been running RS14/29 for the last 3 front pad changes and I like this combo much better for brake balance.I have tried the ST pads that came with the kit but they only work ok if you are not very agressive with them.

This ^^.

Get front and rear and be fully equipped.

As for pads, the ST Street Performance are great for DD. Since the pad changing is such a cinch, go ahead and get dedicated track pads, you will appreciate the braking performance. No "street" pads can really come close. I've been using Pagid Yellow (RS29), love em, but will start this season trying out the ST racing compound (SR34).

Happy braking!

Thanks! 3-5 weekends sounds about right. I will most likely get a set of dedicated track pads so I can get the most out of my r-comps.

Thanks for the input! I will ck with Richard and see what his prices are on these.

Thanks for the input! How is the rotor wear with the RS14/29 combo?

Thanks! Yes, I decided on the 380/355 kit. A friend has been using the StopTech SR34 and likes them as much as PF01s and Pagid yellow. He seems to think for the price these are the best pads.

I got about 20 days out of 1st set of rotors.I changed out the rotors due to heat checking and they were still above the wear limits.I usually keep the RS 14/29's in on the street with no great issues.

Thanks again! 20 track days or about 10 track weekends sounds pretty good. And you kept using track pads on the street. I have much to think about.

i run my track pads all the time also with not much issue. bigjae chimed in on this subject for me before and what he said made sense. how can the front offer any more braking power in the 380 kit if its still paired with the same rear set up in their bbk? if it did it would screw up the bias. he has the kit you do and would have went st-40 all the way around to save money initially and at time for pad changes and rotors.

I spoke with Jae at the track about this exact issue, but decided to go with the ST-60 because it is larger and therefore can dissapate more heat. This is one of the main premise behind a BBK, besides more stopping power. Also the 15 inch rotors will look massive behind the 18 inch Arc-8's. So yes, there is also the wow factor ("Wow what big brakes you have, is it true what they say about men with big brakes? They are over-compensating for lack of skills") to consider! HaHa!!!

True, I was making stock look good myself. Now I just need better brakes. Too many issues with small OEM pads.

Keeping up with an R8/V10 is impressive!

yeah that is actually the staging lanes for the dragstrip. run NHRA there also. the front straight after the kink is the back end of the dragstrip. that whole section is getting repaved in a month or so which should help a lot.

Regarding the brake bias issue, the short answer is that it screws up bias somewhat to have 380 front and stock rear, but that the difference is not enough to matter unless you trail brake a lot. Straight line braking is dramatically front biased anyway, so unless you trail brake a lot it won't matter. I trail brake some, when I need rotation in a decreasing radius turn for example, and 380 front/stock rear didn't bother me.

Thanks bryan. That is Pacific Raceways my home track. I went to a new track to me and the area yesterday and will post video later today. Probably driving won't look as nice as it was my first day.

if you are refering to my video the track is not that great of condition as far as the surface. the worst portion the rear corner with the stage lanes lines on it for drag strip is getting repaved in the next month so next time i go after the 16th it will be a lot better. im guessing a second will be had just on that!
