I drove one before I bought my E92, not a 2018, but a 16 with PP. I like the way the S550 looks compared to previous recent models, but the car feels massive. I think the M looks better, I like the way it drives better, the quality of the interior I find superior. So at the end of the day I went with the E92, I just didn't get the same feeling from the mustang. It also doesn't help that everyone seems to have one around here.

The 18's are so much improved over ALL pervious years, don't judge a 18 off a 16 or whatever year you had experience with IT DOES NOT MATTER I also understand all the hate mustangs get and i agree with a lot of it however.....
Until you have driven a 2018 mustang GT with the performance pack , mag ride and the 401A interior option and valved exhaust....(ford also offers a carbon fiber interior option) You won't understand why i consider this car a real option ( for some people ) to the m3. Looking forward to comments from people that have driven a 2018 |

I’d rather have an e9x m3 over a normal mustang gt because I’m a sucker for special high revving naturally aspirated motors. Even if the new mustang gt performs better. But I like the gt350 a lot and it fits my needs. Gt4 was obviously a better car, but it was 40k more than my gt350 and no back seats. At 60k, I think the gt350 is a fantastic deal and driver’s car. This is the first American car that really got my interest. It is huge and heavy, though (like the m3) it hides the weight well. But when compared to an e9x m3 you have to ask is it worth paying 60k for a gt350 over 30k for an m3? Most would say no way. But I have no interest in owning the same cars again. I want to drive as many different cars I can. I personally don’t miss my m3 because I had quite a few issues including blown motor at 60k (which was reluctantly replaced under my extended warranty), but I have good memories driving that car and know they are fantastic when they don’t give you trouble.

That's because of the 10 speed auto. I have little doubt the 10 speed auto with PP2 will be faster than the GT350 around track too. Can't believe the GT can come with PSC2's while the GT350 gets the (relatively) crappy PSS's.

Any word on if they will update the voodoo with Direct Port or is it going to die after the GT500 comes out?

This is the last year of the GT350. But I heard the GT500 is a supercharged variant of the voodoo. I haven't read much on it though as I don't have interest in that kind of car.

The coyote motor in the 18 GT‘s is a 7500 rpm N/A .... torque curve is different then our M threes not as linear.
Still gives you a similar feel to an M3 only it’s quicker & faster |

Mustang GT no, but Shelby 350R yes.
The E9x M3 will keep its value a lot longer than the current Mustang 5.0L. The Mustang GT 5.0L will be around for generations to come, but the V8 only came once for the M3!

I don't think the "R" is necessarily unless you're only going to use it for track duty only. Give me the standard GT350 with the comfy seats as a dual purpose or street car.

The sport Recaros are very comfortable and fine for daily driving IMO. The only thing I wish I had from the R is the lightweight CF wheels and PS Cup 2's.

I was going to get a 2017 GT350, I didn't go through with it. To be honest the gearing on the GT350 is so tall and the engine as not as rev happy as the S65, makes the car feel a tad more lazy than the E9X cars. Not to mention the S550 is a huge car. The interior on the S550 does look cooler than the E9X cars but the materials on the E9X cars is still quite a bit better than the S550 to include the GT350.
If I didn't have the E92 already it would definitely be on the short list, but even a 4.5 yr. old E92 is still a heck of a car and I couldn't be happier with my decision. Dave

That GT350 is amazing. Its the only other car I would care to own at this time. The S65 just has me hooked now, I need the thrill of a high revving engine.

Personally I don’t consider anything under 8k rpms high revving.

Man I wish Atlanta dealers didnt suck(Ford and BMW to be fair). This one dealer has 3 17 GT350 on the lot with 18s coming in and still wants ADM on the 17s. Lame.
I did find a dealer 5 hours away in Alabama that has 5 of them for $2000 under MSRP. May make a road trip this weekend and see if I can get a real good deal on one of them. The real question is can I get a decent trade value on my low mile e92. |
