Pulling the bearings on a 75,xxx mile 2008 M3. We noticed it being a little golden brown inside. Seems as though previous owner extended their oil services. We're curious to see how these bearings look.

The turn around would be a couple of days. Realistically we'd love to have the car the night before in order to drop the oil and let it drain/cool down over night. Next morning come in bright and early and be on the job until we close shop. The following day align it and top off oil as needed, just making sure everything is good before returning the car to the customer. When we have people come from far away we try to do something towards the end of the week so that way customers can tie in a couple of days + the weekend that way they can make a little trip out of it and spend the time in NYC right across the bridge here.

Here's the 75k '08 bearings. The uppers (left column) have some pretty good wear into them. Their corners are also worn down the way the lowers usually get. The lowers have their typical corner wear, but rather heavy on cylinder 2.

74,xxx mile 2011 E90 M3 in for the service

Left column uppers - Right column lowers. Cylinders 8 - 1 top to bottom respectively. Cylinder 3 upper showed heavy wear on the edge through the coating. Cylinder 1 lower had "typical" corner wear, but definitely one of the heaviest we've seen as well as extending near the center. Also showing decent wear on the other side of cylinder 1.

Yea man! I'm glad we got you in here to take care of her. Keep up with proper warm ups, low rpm shifting till she's warm and keep the oil clean and it will last you! Now you're the first one on these so you can keep up on it for yourself.

Hey, we are down the street from NJ transit. That runs to the Hoboken Station for the Path!

Not an E9x, but we took care of one of the E60 M5's we supercharged a few years back.

Here's the bearings out of John's Mineral White E93 with 29,xxx posted above ^. This is a proper example of bearing wear. Keep in mind, it is very important to emphasis here, that these bearings are a wear item. The problem is how unevenly and deep they typically get worn. The WPC GTS treatment is stronger and more resilient than the factory.

John has owned this car for most of its life, most of which have also been supercharged. He is very adamant about initial warm ups, oil change intervals, and overall usage. He does have fun with the car, but not in an abusive manner, certainly not until she's ready.

Considering that the supercharger does put a decent amount of added strain on the engine, you can see how well these look with the right care from the beginning. This is how the OEM bearings should be wearing near 40-50k. At this rate, his care and maintenance will keep the WPC bearings in there for a very, very long time.

Yeah it's definitely a money saver if you consider what you're getting and think about the amount you're spreading over years of ownership.

Sorry we can't help you up there.
