Dash/Engine Noise during acceleration - sounds like an 'electric' "whizzing" noise

Forgive me for a new thread. I swear, I searched everywhere for weeks on this before asking. I am taking the car in to a new Indy Wednesday, so figured I would check with you all so I can hopefully direct them to some potential areas.

Here's how I would describe it.. because it's something I've never heard and it's hard to describe.

- Radio off and windows up.
- Mid to heavy acceleration in gears 1-3 (from what I can hear)
- its a 'Whizzing' noise.... 'WHHHHIIZZZZZZZZZ' with pitch/speed changes as the speed goes up.. and I used the word "electric" because I couldn't think of another way to describe it.. it could be mechanical or engine, but it oddly sounds like an old CD player spooling up but hitting the sides of the CD player? It does not appear to be a "rattle" from squeaky vents... it seems to change pitch depending on how hard the throttle is regardless of shaking.

Definitely seems to be coming from either forward (dash) or potentially down towards the DCT knob.. but it's been consistently there since I've owned the car.

I'm at 100K on an 09 E90.

I don't think it's my speakers, but sometimes I think it's the nav because It does appear to be coming from the dash area, which could mean engine area... a checked for intake leaks, but not sure if I know what that would sound like. I am having my drivetrain and DCT checked also bc of 'tinging" noises and some 'banging' into gears under heavy acceleration.

I get a noise from the engine bay also. I have no idea what it is but its annoying
