Google's new Backgrounds

So today I log on to Google and they've put this new crappy background on. After much searching, the only way to remove it is to sign up for a Google account. I use Google for the simple easy on the eyes design. If I wanted a visual orgasm I'd go use Bing or something.

This brings me to my new pet peeve. Companies making changes without any care for how their customers feel. For instance, Facebook with the privacy settings defaulted to wide open so anyone can access your information. There is no warning that these are the defaults, and you have to go through countless menus in order to turn them all out. Not only that, apparently there is this new Facebook integration thing where you can comment on a website (CNN, ImageShack, and others use it) using your Facebook account. There is no way to turn it off.

I'm tired of companies deciding what is best for us and then shoving it down our throats whether we like it or not.

You do have the choice not to use the offending sites.
