bimmerworld customer service

Just wanted to post my most recent interaction with bimmerworld customer service. Jumped on the 50 percent off bimmerworld mount kit with optima d35 purchase. Against all advice to not go optima i figured id give it a shot with the mount promo plus the warranty. The optima d35 was advertised great for BMWs that are parked long periods of time or aftermarket radios. I have stock radio but keep my M3 parked in the garage on a trickle charger on agm setting when not driven.Customer service contradicted the advertisement and told me the d35 is best suited for racecars with thinned electronics. During warranty period my car wouldnt start so i brought it to Interstate hoping to bring it back to life. Unfortunately it was deemed bad and in need of replacement. I reached out to bimmerworld customer service for warranty claim and they provided label. Unfortunately battery was recieved damaged. I boxed it well with foam and was told over the phone from bimmerwold it was packaged well also. I was told im shit out of luck right away but reminded customer service they provided label and hopefully ups claims could be reached. I also said i could provide interstate testimonial of battery condition being undamaged in my possession. Apparently ups denied claims but no proof of that was given either. Again i was told nothing could be done for me.

So this means BW customer service is ?

I’ve been a BW customer pretty much from the beginning and, even after 20+ years, I have nothing bad to say about their customer and technical support.

What are they supposed to do with a damaged battery? Was it shipped in the same packaging that you received it in or did you package it yourself with little to no protection? Always take a picture of the item being shipped as it’s being placed into the packaging material and after it’s been sealed shut. UPS didn’t accept liability for causing the damage to the battery. So does that make BW liable for a battery that arrived damaged? No. The battery manufacturer will certainly deny the warranty claim on a physically damaged battery. Not sure what the discrepancy between the online description of the item and the statement made by the BW employee has to do with a damaged battery or are you trying to say the battery was misrepresented and, therefore, you should be given a full refund or a new battery? New things fail all the time and there’s nothing that has 100.0000000…0% reliability. I’m confident BW would’ve warrantied a dead undamaged battery. I don’t see how this has anything to do with BW CS and it’s all about you not getting a new replacement battery so you create a thread in an attempt to damage their reputation. I hope it at least made you feel better about yourself.

It’s pretty easy to see if something like a battery has been damaged in transit by UPS. The box and dunnage will be crushed. Sounds like a UPS problem. Shocking right?

ive also received great service from BW over the years. That is what made the Optima purchase seem like a homerun for the preservation piece. Ive learned that BW ads are marketing items incorectly and im attempting to help others from the same rabbit hole i found myself in. Purchase was made based on ad stating BMWs parked for long periods. No mention of race cars with thinnes electronics like the email reply i received. It failed within a year. I suppose a correction to the online ad would make me feel better since you seem to be concerned with my well-being. As far as packaging goes i was told over the phone damage was not due to insufficent packaging as there was no sign of damage to the box.

BW reached out to let me know UPS has issued a goodwill credit. BW offered multiple options for battery replacement or store credit. Faith restored.

Glad they did the right thing. I’ve always had a good experience with them. Now ECS is a different story…. that company is always my third/last option.
