FCP Euro

Hey guys,

Quick question here. About to order brakes for my M3 and initially i wanted to order PFC Direct drive rotors but now thinking about FCP Euro lifetime replacement. Did anyone have an experience with them? What if i purchase 4 rotors and kill them on the track, will they replace them for free? Do they care what brake pads i use on the rotors?
How does FCP Euro manage to make money if they replace stuff for free? Where is the trick

Thats where I get all parts for my daily. They would even take used oil back. Haha.

But how do they make money? I mean, do any of track guys take advantage of this? Free rotors seems to be too good to be true lol

I just ordered an oil kit. I'll send them back the old oil and filter when I make the change. Guys do purchase their pads and swap them out no questions asked just like the oil or any other product they guarantee. There have been theories as to why they do it but after they credited my card the first time I sent them back oil I didn't much care to ask.

Im pretty sure they justify it in their pricing. For example, a few times I asked for any discounts available and they told me they dont offer discount because they sell the items at their lowest price possible. Similar to Tirerack with their tires. They wont give you any discount, but you have a two year road hazard warranty. It pays itself off (for the company) because I'm sure many people see the free replacements parts and become a customer.

There is most likely analysis done of percentage of users who will never bother to use the warrantee vs individuals who will abuse it to the highest extent and the loss is outweighed. I’m not surprise if it is revoked sooner or later

They bank on the majority of parts not failing again. Short of consumables many parts don't need replacing twice under the same owner (not a sure thing but hey, they are still in business)

I've used them for every part I've ever needed.

I heard the oil/fluid returns were supposedly stopping? Can anyone confirm or deny?

I figure most people probably dont return everything that breaks or is used and therefore its not utilized enough to cost the company enough money to matter.

Funny you mentioned brake rotors - I just replaced a set with FCP.

I had front OEM BMW floating drilled rotors from FCP installed last year. This year, it was destroyed because of my brake master cylinder failed on track causing the pads to go metal on metal on the rotor ... long story. The rotors were ruined. So I ordered the exact same part from FCP again and sent back the old ones under warranty. They credited me back the original amount... but the price had gone up $100 from the year before.

The only problem was the shipping for these rotors are pricey. It was over $100 to ship as they weigh 50 lbs with all the packaging and size. They will not credit back shipping. But still not bad - $200 for a new set of OEM replacements.

so you pay for one oil change kit and you can get parts for the oil change for life? (minus cost of shipping back)
i had heard of FCP's lifetime replacement but i figured it wouldn't apply to engine oil ...

brake rotors ... fluids ... they're all very heavy

Any and every fluid that is correct. You can do 1,000 mile oil changes if you like. You do pay for the oil that they send to you. Once they receive it all back including the filter and two gaskets, they credit your card back. Owning two vehicles it is well worth it.

Yes, it's real, I've received credit back to my credit card for numerous items. I guess they spend less on advertisement and by you starting this thread, you are advertising for them.

How does it work? Let's use rotors and pads as an example, but every part should follow the same process.

1. You buy your first set of rotors and pads on order #1
2. When it's near time to change your rotors and pads again, you place another order for rotors and pads on order #2
3. You change your rotors and pads (remove the old ones from order #1 and replace them with new ones on order #2)
4. You box up the old rotors from order #1 and go online to start the return process for order #1. Important: To receive credit for order #1, you must have placed order #2 from them. You can't just send order #1 back to them and receive credit without placing order #2.
5. You ship order #1 (worn rotors and worn pads) back to them on your own dime. They will credit your credit card after they received and verified the parts.

How do they make money? I'm guessing some people forget or don't bother with step #2 to step #5.

The OEM brake rotors hold up fine. My last set I ran over a dozen track days over 2-3 years of driving. Just make sure to use good track pads. I just replaced them because I overheated a set of MX72 pads which left bad pad deposits all over the rotor... I am never going to run those again on track.

I am assuming you also putting street miles on them? I was under impression that 10 track days and rotors are done. PFC suppose to hold up longer though, right?

No idea on the life of PFC rotors.

Rotor life is dependent on how you use them and the pad you use on it. The more abrasive the pad, the faster it will wear down the rotor.

Yes, I do drive it on the street but not that much now. I usually do 5k or less miles a year.

You can literally buy the parts, abuse them however you want, buy a replacement set, and send in the first order. You can destroy them, burn them, whatever, they'll take it back.

With my M3 coming up close to 170K, I've refreshed the suspension and some engine components, spent a total of maybe $2k in parts as a one time cost. The rest, was all warranty replacement by FCP

they are legit. their prices are slightly higher for parts than ecs tuning, turner, etc.. probably half the way they keep in business with this business model is people forget or put it off until they don't care.

There is no comparison between a PFC DD rotor and the OEM/OEM equivalent stuff FCP sells. The PFC rotor is going to cool massively better and handle hard track use for a long time before it needs replacement.

And yes, the OEM rotors would be covered if you tracked them:
