Question Poly Guibo?

I searched the forums and couldn't find anyone that has provided feedback.

Is anyone running an upgraded polyurethane guibo? Is it worth upgrading for those who aren't concerned about NVH and want to minimize parasitic loss through the drive train? Is the difference between poly and rubber for the guibo significant/noticeable?

I'm asking because I'm about to upgrade to a CF driveshaft, and if I'm down there and it's worth it, I might as well swap the guibo as well.

Thanks in advance.

There was a guy on here running it and he took it off. Lots of noise that got old fast.
There isn't a huge gain here, either. They don't really twist or anything.

How much power do you think you would gain? I doubt any. Those who have tried the revshift ones don’t seem to like them. I know bmw used aluminum guibos with rubber inserts on some auto trans cars but I think the manual cars have all had rubber guibos.

FWIW, it's actually Giubo as opposed to Guibo. Of course, everyone spells it as Guibo, so I usually just call it a flex disk (or is it disc?)

I spell it guibo because I don’t want to pay the licensing fee to use that guy’s name.

That's exactly what I was thinking. I imagined the amount of actual "torque" that the guibo/flex disc/shit ass would be under is minimal if any. Doesn't make sense to spend $200 on almost non existent benefits.

Thanks for the answers guys, I appreciate it. I'll save that money for a track day instead.

A one piece carbon fiber driveshaft would do more than a special guibo.

Yea I'm installing the M Factory shortly. I just want to knock out anything else that's in the vicinity while I'm down there and have it torn apart.

I am running my 11 year old original
Guibo with my first version cf driveshaft. No issues. 100k miles. Probably 20k with the cf shaft. Tested to 150 mph. Plenty of full throttle runs. N/A with all
The bolt ons. No track, though. Track is the hardest on cars.

I'm doing the guibo (with a stock replacement) when my driveshaft comes, but that's just because I don'tw ant to have to do it again for another 10 years

You will probably need a clutch before another 10 years if you drive the car.
