Does any one know if the trunk lid among all E92s the same?

Meaning do E92 3 series trunks all the same?

I am looking to buy a trunk to preserve mine.

Yes they are generally all the same. The only slight difference is a pre LCI trunk has a hole for a key/lock while the later years do not.

This is correct.

Be careful when buying a trunk off eBay. The corners of these things almost always bust through the box. I had to buy three trunks before receiving an acceptable trunk. You have to make sure they pack it exceptionally well.

There is one 9 minutes from ACM so it will be easy pickup. But not the right color.

Just get in on the group buy for a carbon one.

That one time the single car trailer wasn't available and I had to pull the 48 foot gooseneck with my 2017 F350. *No street signs were damaged but I might have run up over a curb. Not that I felt it but I used my mirrors 🤣. (Eddie in the picture helping out)

Pretty sure that is a Trailex CT-7541. They are super light ~900lbs. I almost picked one up myself but ended up going with the JimGLO EGO tilt trailer. It's a bit heavier but the bed tilts making it easier to load (no ramps needed).

900? Holy crap. Even a Featherlite all-aluminum one is like 1500.

And yeah after using a tilt-back trailer I can't see myself ever using something else.

I have been looking at the Aluma tilts and really like them. But am interested in any and all alternatives finding good info on people actually using some of these lighter weight trailer options are hard to find.

Is this a prelude to some weight reduction on the car?

I'm looking at the JimGLO trailers myself, but I'm looking towards the enclosed trailers.

okusa I'm looking myself at the Cayenne for towing - did you get a base model or spring for a higher trim? I'm debating at getting this to tow an enclosed since the JimGLO trailers are 2600-2700 lbs empty and I think that this is enough, but I need to do some research on tongue weights etc.

Going with a tilt deck to end ramp use seems like it's the obvious move, but you have to make sure the approach angle works with your car. Just because it tilts doesn't mean you'll necessarily get away from using ramps.

Race ramps are light, and look to be easily stow-able on the trailex.

For tilt deck I don't know if there's a better trailer than Futura (ducking for cover) but the entry fee on them is no joke.

Yup. At 3400lbs right now.

The approach angle on the JimGLO is 11 degrees for the 16' version. I actually used the race ramps calculator to ensure my car would work without the need for ramps. I looked at the Aluma as well but the issue is that the rear edge of the bed is fairly tall so even though the tilt angle is the same (11 degrees), I think my car would bottom out.

I like the Featherlite 3110 trailers - specifically the 20'. At 20' there is room to add a tire rack to the front with some locking enclosed storage beneath it - which also can serve as a gravel guard. Their capacity also can make them pretty versatile. Resale is particularly good with Featherlite - but most aluminum trailers seem to carry their value pretty well. Do need race ramps or something similar for loading but still easy on & off.

If the only use for an open trailer is car hauling then can definitely understand the appeal of a tilt trailer. Some of those though still do not have a low enough entry angle on their own to prevent scraping & end up using ramps or boards anyways.

I really like the 20' aluma trailers, seem really well built and the warranty is great. I was going to get a tilt deck but decided last minute to get a flat with a dove, since I haul around town for friends and customers. I opted for the 20' when I had my camaro but made it easy to add a tire rack and plenty of space.
