I've never seen a honda motor with .0001 clearance. Nor do any if the honda engine builders that I know, have used clearances that tight.

Not 0.0001, one too many zero there, it's more like 0.001

This thread has been completely derailed. This thread started with a post about getting rod bearings changed, and has evolved into yet *another* debate on the quality of the bearings he chose, clearances, etc. To those of you with:
-an ax to grind,
-negative commentary to make,
-the need to debate clearances and what not
there's another thread for that.

The poster made his choice, is happy with his choice, and the rest of this bull$hit needs to be kept out of his thread. Give it a rest already!

Massive thread revival.

This thread is a hoot.
All the self proclaimed experts promoting the tight clearance theory.
Where are they now that the OE drawings have been (partially) released showing that the S85/S65 rod bearing clearance is in line with all the previous M engines listed in the wiki and not tight at all.

But the way they ganged up on anyone who dared to oppose the tight bearing theory was pretty shameful.
