Don't go to Allston car wash. They will scratch up your car's finish really badly even after just one wash.
I only go to Luxury Details in Framingham and Auto Salon in Winchester for hand washes.

Ryan and I are no longer in Burlington. The new shop is located in Wakefield. You'll have to stop by and check out the new shop sometime. |

The best detail shop..
http://www.drivenperfection.com Go ahead and try the "m&m trick".. they will find it.. The car wash I frequent is on rt 99 in Somerville/Everett (not sure of the name but you can't miss it).. I use the self wash bays.. They have everything there including 2 touchless bays but I've never used them.. --mike |

I usually go to Allston carwash when it is cold. Last saturday, I did and met a gentleman who has a red E92 M3. We had a good conversation there. Mine is 08 sparkling graphite and hard to notice minor scratches resulted from machine wash. Of course, when weather is okay, I always wash and wax myself.

I didn't know him until I went there. We happened to talk to each other. BTW, I just noticed that Allston carwash made BUNCH of scratch on my right rear wheel. I think their conveying rail width is too narrow for M3's rear wheels. I decided not to go there anymore. It is unacceptable. |

I simply do not trust any "contact" car wash. I have a little compressor and just do it myself when it's not freezing outside. In the winter, I sometimes use the do-it-yourself place in Brighton just to get the dust/dirt off if I'm in the area.

I never trust the dealer to wash my car. I am not sure what kind of system my dealer has. Their machine pulled a headlight washer out of a friends bumper which proceeded to bump and scratch the hood to the trunk. The dealer covered the bodywork but only after a lot of haggling. It is supposed to be in the forties tomorrow so I am headed to a self wash booth with some full buckets.

agree with lucid - I go to a Mobil touchless at once a week. Not perfectly clean but it does a decent job to get rid of the salt. I also go to a self wash bay and give it a wash. The last time the water froze on the car as I was washing and I was slipping all over the ice - people think I am nuts!
I heard there is an indoor self wash in Grafton somewhere?? |

Yes, it is nice to avoid contact with the wheels by driving into Mobil automated wash. The brushes make contact obviously, but that seems fairly harmless. Still more fun to wash it yourself in the sun on a weekend day!

Actually, I'd better check what the one. Maybe that is what it does as well. It's been some time I went through it because they are always down; I stopped by 3 times in the past 2 weeks, and no go...
