... or you could do what I did: buy used individual parts on ebay(.uk) for roughly half the cost. Works perfect!

..but you have an 09, make sure you are pre-wired, you may need extra items like hood sensor and the wiring itself.

Great tip! I was able to check all the part numbers on the installation guide as well. I ended up buying the siren and motion sensor used on eBay (US) for $95 and all the hardware/brackets from bmwparts4u.com for $34. $129 total for parts sounds way better than $310!

You made out better than I did, I think I paid about US$160 including shipping.

I don't believe we need to buy the hood switch, per the above links. The DIY installation thread mentioned that it comes pre-installed on the M3.

Up to 08s for certain, no need for hood sensor, 09s and up one needs to check their car.

Even better, the exchange rate is favorable these days than last year when I bought my kit.

That is correct. I own a 2008 and before I hit the buy-it-now button, I popped my hood and low and behold, I have a hood switch already installed and plugged in! That the reason why my purchase was so cheap. I just needed the ultra sonic module and siren.

Can someone take a picture of what the switch looks like when installed? I'd like to check but not sure where to look.

Great thread! So I have an 2008 e93 M3, and the sensor is there.

I just need the siren and the ultrasonic module? What about wires and such? I'm not too savvy on this, but A complete list of what I need for a 2008, would be awesome!

Okay, I looked at the PDF. Seems I only need:

1) Ultrasonic Module
2) Siren
3) Siren mounting bracket
4) Screws and washers
5) Coding

Again this is for 2008. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks!
