Did you get the 396 doc fee in your quote? I mean isn't that pure dealer profit padding over invoice? Or is that an alternative to being charged gas, detail, delivery charges later in the process? Just wanted to make sure since that seems really high for just doc processing.

I think my doc fee from my dealer was $100.

The hidden fee. NJ does not regulate their doc fee like MD, CA and a handful of others. Invoice is meaningless when you can pad a doc fee. Always make sure you compare out the door cost and payments. Dealers also pad interest/money factor rates and bank acquisition fees.

Dealers need to make profit, they just need to be above board on the total cost.
