Hey, what's the fun of having everything when you are only 26. i DON'T even want to think about the car I drove in my 20's. When you can afford it do it, I know lots of people with money that drive boring cars and those with less that drive cars they shouldn't. It's about your passion and if you can do it then do it. I've got 4 kids, 3 boys and they won't be touching anything pricey until they can afford it and we can afford to give it to them but won't.

Don't underestimate how many people who say they "paid for it themselves" live at home, pay no rent, pay nothing for utilities, don't set aside money for retirement, etc.

I have to disagree. A whole different story if you have small children. A mother that can be home with their children is priceless. My wife is a professional who worked for about 7 yrs when we got married. We had one child in day care etc. By the time our second child came along I was at the top of my career. When we did the math, it wasn't worth her working by the time we figure what we pay in taxes (high bracket). Child care and commuting. Now she's a stay at home mom who spends her days volunteering at my kids' schools and I think my kids are 10x better for it.

Work hard, play harder.
My first realistic dream car as a kid was the M3, now I have one. I got the car a month ago and I turn 30 a week from today. It's funny cause I LOVE this car, i'm modding it it, and look forward to driving it every day. Yet I think the M3 is a "gateway drug" to cars like the M5 and Porsche Turbo. I now dream about those

Although I do agree that education is imporant, I believe picking a career that pays well and has good opportunity is important. How many people get arts degrees (or whatever) and end up as a bank teller or waiter/waitress and not making much money. Going to university is not a guarantee for big bucks. Picking the right career, working really hard, making good choices along the way, and being the best at what you do make all of the difference IMO.
I have friends who have master degrees and doctorates and make less money (by far) than I do with my simple bachelor degree. They did degrees in areas they really "liked" and I did a degree in something I knew I could make money at later. Having said that, I also have clients with little to no formal education that make WAY more money than me too. Intelligence, drive, work ethic, risk taking and a little luck often are not always related to the level formal education someone has. |

Just work hard and be happy at what you're doing for a living, and everything will fall in place smoothly.
The last thing you wanna do is start comparing your status with others. It'll tear you up if you do. Good luck with your future, OP. |

I work my a off running my own business. It isn't always fun, but the harder you work, the more it pays off. And you should be proud of your Hyundai, it is new, and you worked for it! All good things come with time and hard work.

there are many important things that contribute to make a lot of money..education, brains, contacts and LUCK are probably among the most important, however I think the key to success is being in the right place at the right time. grabbing the opportunities and making the right choices It is true though, that in life some are more fortunate than others, and those others are often more fortunate than many others etc....No need to be greedy, jealous or always demand more. I'm happy with the M3. If someday I can afford a Lamborghini as well, I'll be even more thankful In terms of being able to afford something and pay for it, there's two sides to that and I agree to both. One could argue that making a lot of money and in this case, buying an M3, should be the product of working hard and thus receiving your "reward". On the other side, life ends. If you have the chance to enjoy good things, at whatever age and even if your parents help you finance them, just do it. I know I would, I know 99% of us would, and I completely don't blame those who do. As long as it works as incentives or rewards for achievements, theres no problem...You could argue this increases the chance of growing up a irresponsible spoiled kid and eventually being useless, but IMHO, someone who get's spoiled through this, most likely lacks brains and chances of success anyways. OP, we don't have the Genesis here in Europe, unfortunately, but it is a very great looking car and from what I read, is pretty fast too. Most of us could sign up on a Ferrari forum and say we are jealous, or as a friend of mine could sign up on any car forum and say he is jealous for having to take the bus/metro everytime. Someday you'll get your M, even if it's used..mine wasn't bought new if it makes you feel better |

You need to read the book "Rich Dad, Poor Dad". Instead of saying "I cannot afford the M3", say "What do I need to do to afford the M3?". That should be your inspiration to spurt creativity and find your niche in today's market. After all, which one would you rather be? - Work for the man or be the man?

Lots of deployments, below invoice price, no car sales tax, no personal property tax, descent insurance rates = my E92 M3. Nothing really cosmic about it. I don't work any harder than anyone else. It still looks hot even when she sits at length in the garage.
BTW - the Genesis does look pretty sick... |

New Genesis coupe is HOT. Turns my head everytime. Enjoy what you got, there is always someone out there with a nicer car.
I'm really excited to see Hyundai develop. They are making some really well built cars, and if the trend with the looks heads towards the Genesis, thats exciting too. The Genesis sedan blew me away. I think I'd honestly prefer it to a Merc.
