Yeah... all the things he mentioned is common knowledge for m3 owners.

Some of those things like battery registration is for all BMW cars, not even M3 specific.

Not for all M3 owners, I know the carbon fiber one most people have no idea.

obviously the way to go is to let someone else pay for the warranty. my m3 came with a carmax warranty which i transfered to myself and its awesome.

since the beginning of my ownership some months ago the warranty has paid out for:

front L/R struts and necessary alignment
engine mounts
trans mounts
bank 2 valve cover gasket
Rod bearing job and auxiliary stuff
(i threw a little extra in for BE/ARP and nicer parts for some of these)

i thought the rod bearing claim would be denied as i had no issues with them and just wanted to see if i could get it done for free and for peace of mind. they even sent an auditor out and still approved it.

needless to say this warranty is a godsend and extremely generous

That's great! I feel lucky that my car has needed nothing beyond maintenance in the years I've had it.

Wow, I've never heard of any warranty preemptively covering RBs...you did well.

Yoda, teach me the ways of the force.

How can I go to CarMax and just get them to do my rod bearings?

sell the car to them, buy it back with a warranty

in my case, it was the "excessive oil consumption" wink wink that required new bearings

I don't see how that is a quirk at all - the different weave of carbon fiber. It's more like a fun fact than quirk. I could care less about the pattern.

While they're at it, they should compare the external carbon fiber pattern with the interior carbon leather pattern as well...

Really? Can't be. Doug Demuro makes good money on YouTube clickbait that highlights quirks and features. I'm not saying I don't watch/enjoy them. But can't imagine that's what got OP booted?

Besides performance, quirks and features are all what anyone cares about in a car.
