Met up earlier this week with spammysammich , so we can show off each other’s rides. He and his ride convinced me that monoball control arms and a set of coil overs were the way to go. I have a set of GAS monoball front control arms on the way as well as a TC Kline Racing coilover kit. Single adjustable on the front with double adjustable on the rear, camber plates, and I went with 300/600 on the springs for the heavy use road duty. Should have them in the car and testing out by the second week of April.

Aside- after pulling out of the lot to head home I passed a pastel green e92 m3. Mine is Lemans blue, Spammy’s is Dakar yellow. I’m sure pastel was a wrap but 3 semi random e9x m3s within 100 yards of each other on a routine workday afternoon, love this platform being used in daily duty.

Received my NRW inline fuel filter kit which will go in soon. Summer rubber going on Monday (295 30 19s on the rear), and replaced the center console Power button and hvac fan button for wear. I think that Power button alone will shave 0.8 seconds off my quarter mile, lol. I’m a diff fluid change, oil change, brake fluid flush and track pads away from being ready for the hpde season. Planning a rear section including diff update for next spring. All the interim fun money will be going into track fees and insurance.

Have a great weekend everyone and thanks, Spammy!

SST

I made special service tool SST for radiator drain plug. Flat head screwdriver not the best option.

I just got finished replacing fuel injectors, spark plugs and the thermostat. Took longer than I would like to admit. This is the first time I’ve really tinkered around under the hood, learned a lot about the car. Just hoping I don’t have to get under there again anytime soon

I had my eye out for this Turner Motorsports CSL style carbon fiber aero piece and happened upon it for 70% off. The fit is slightly off on the passenger side but hard to say whether that is the aero piece, the lid, or the fitter. I give myself a B but it will serve its purpose for 1-2 seasons.

Also did a real thorough washing of the inside of the windshield with Simple Green and a Magic Eraser to remove 13 years of smeared plasticizer. Much better!

Yes...and it looks the best with the Fox Red interior. I have to thank my friend for choosing that color when he bought it brand new.

Klaro! Es ist toll, wieder zurück zu sein

I got it a tow vehicle! Now I can continue doing things to it that make it unpalatable on the street.

Also... neighbor came out and asked me today if I work for BMW. The F95 is probably the ... 4th or 5th different bimmer to have rolled through our driveway in the past 12 months. Maybe I really do have a BMW problem.

... nah.

Wrapped the A B C pillars in alcantara. The material was authentic alcantara and was very easy to work with, as was the glue. Very stoked with the finished product. Next is the headliners, which is prepped. So far this is a 5/10 difficulty job. You gotta have the right tools, patience, and basic problem solving for corners and curves when wrapping. I’ve never wrapped anything before in my life!

Got my oil change kit from fcpeuro this week so a fresh 9ish L of Motul and Mahle filter went in. It’s more work repackaging the oil to send back than the actual maintenance. Gotta love a relaxing garage session.

just bought $1100 worth of maintenance items...

Engine mounts
Transmission mounts
spark plugs
oil filter gasket
water pump
thermostat
temp sensor
camshaft position sensor(s)
plenum boots
all the assorted O-rings, nuts, and bolts...

3/29 - did a gasket change to HJS...new bolts and copper nuts from headers to xpipe.. adjust exhaust tips on muffler.. double checked to see if valves worked. did a FULL ISTA diagnostics of the car on to ensure proper operation. hence the above items.

Wow that's awesome, how does it fit after wrapping, even if the parts are now ''thicker'' ?

Haven’t reassembled yet because I have to do the headliner. The material is thin so I don’t anticipate any issues.
