Uuuhhhh... excuse me! White is not evil looking?! Then again white is BMW's official choice of color for their race cars, on the track.
What you should look for is whether the car is certified and maintenance up to par! You know you want that white, quit being in denial!! lol |

A white M3 is more "evil" than any color Z4 so I wouldn't worry about that. But I agree. White is for chicks. Sorry every forum member ever.
Secondly, a nickel for this and a dime for that turns into a quarter for this and a dollar for that when you're going to an M3 from a Z4. That being said, follow one rule when shopping used M3s. Newer is better. Get the newest car you can for the money you are spending. Deal with the potential issues as they come since all used cars have issues. M3s have less than the avg so don't worry about it. Let's not turn this into a rod bearing thread. |

I dont think the E92 looks good in black. All the lines and curves are hidden. Nothing beats sparkling graphite metallic, especially how its looks in the evening during low light conditions.

1. 2008 was crazy. 2. I like things based on their notoriety, not my personal opinion. OP - Edward is right. Newer is better. For resale and maintenance concerns. Dry rot will creep up on your garage queen and all of a sudden, it'll be like you never had your car. |

Is Edward down your street? His JZB coupe will make you reconsider the true meaning of the word "black". It's like a nice crisp winter weight overcoat on a brisk winter morning.
Is that the darkest navy you've ever seen? Why yes. Yes it is. OP - Have you checked out mineral white? Search "longboarder" for great results. |

Last I checked, Spengler took the 2012 DTM title in a *gasp* black M3.
Racing and colors are not necessarily mutually inclusive, even if they do overlap at times (sometimes due to regulations, etc.). Alpine White is beautiful and is the most exemplified of BMW colors but if you're getting it because it is a "racing color" then i'm sorry. To the OP, get the color that you like.

Not sure what your second point means since I gave nothing but my personal opinion. Also your M3 is a garage queen? hmmmm, not sure what to say to that besides lol. |
