Slon-workshop: DCT Side Cover. Gauging group-buy interest.
Hello guys and girls!
We are finished our DCT Side Cover, had tried it on gearbox and make test fitment. all fits excellent, so i can show you few pics of non anodized cover (testing version). as always, red and black anodized versions will avalible for ordering. like our dct oil pan, it's also fits without oem rubber gasket - yes, it's already proven solution, which works great. side cover has same special groove for sealant - you will get non-leaking side cover and additional strength to your dct case. same time, as always we've add cooling fins which located over all surface of the cover. made from aircraft aluminum. lightweight design - 1050 gram. retail price for our DCT side cover - 650$. its included anodizing in red or black, set of stainless steel bolts and worldwide shipping. group buy prices: 5 and more people - 600$ 10 and more people - 550$ 20 and more people - 500$. if you have any questions - please ask. side by side with our black anodized DCT pan with OEM size cover fitted on dct transmission Last edited by slonik; 12-01-2018 at 05:35 PM.. |

usual price for our dct oil pan 1300$ (anodized) and 650$ for the side cover (total 1950$). i can make 1650$ for both, our side cover and our pan kit, anodized and incl shipping. LPM3 Quote:
and i've set best prices, i can make for group buy deals. so, i can only offer you, to add in group buy list second column - dct pan. and i think you have a lot of chances to get required people count for both items. for example 20 people for side cover, and 10 of them want to take dct pan also. in this way you'll get 500$ side cover price, and 850$ for dct pan. __________________________________________________ _______ again dct side cover: 5+ people 600$ 10+ people 550$ 20+ people 500$ dct pan: 5+ people 950$ 10+ people 850$ anodizing red or black. Group Buy list (nickname - color, side cover, dct pan (min discount level to get in). 1. Redd - Red side cover ($500) 2. rcracin - Red side cover ($550) 3. SFCM3 - Red side cover ($500) 4. M3SQRD - Red Side Cover ($500) 5. rantarM3 - Red Side Cover ($500) 6. kpewpew - Black side cover ($500) 7. Argh...slonik is the devil speaking in my ear...I definitely don't need this...but I so want it now that I am getting the DCT pan. Will have to think hard about it. I can almost justify it at the $500 price point but I am not sure we'll get to 20...
Do you have to drop the transmission to replace this one?

i've tried to take off and install side cover back when it stayed on the car but rear support needed to be unscrewed and gearbox rear end tilted lower. So yes, it's possiblе (Not so comfortable, like on removed gearbox, but possible) You can get in the list with 500$ mark, if its okay for you. I think we will get 20 side covers batch |

I am in at any of the price points mentioned, IF I can get this shipped to me by Christmas. I have an appointment set to get my DCT pan (already paid for) installed on January 3rd, so I would want to get both of these items installed at the same time. If Slon can confirm that's possible, I am in for BLACK at any of the price points.

we are designing our items to get maximum, which we can get from every separate part (and for their money of course).
the main purpose of our side cover is to solve oil leaking, and only secondary purpose - cooling. because "we can"- we added cooling fins. so yep, i can't say that side cover give any huge effectiveness, but of course it's better then OEM steel one. if we look in theory - our aluminum cover with even small fins (compared to 10mm fins on the oil pan) will give 6 times (due to better aluminum thermal conductivity and larger surface) more effectiveness then OEM side cover. i deliberately didn't made high 10mm fins, like on our dct pan, because 1) location of the side cover not so good like pan have (worse air flow, worse cooling). 2) smaller cooling fins takes less production time, so we can make better final prices. if you need really better cooling, you need to change oem dct oil cooler to the larger one. from my experience with dct on n54 and s65 - for induction engine with a huge torque you MUST fit huge oil cooler. for the natural aspirated s65 additional cooling from our pan and side cover will be quite enough. |
