Rolls-royce Ghost Arrives In The United Arab Emirates!

ABU DHABI HOSTS PREMIERE OF THE NEW ROLLS-ROYCE

Abu Dhabi, UAE – Abu Dhabi Motors, the authorised dealer of Rolls- Royce Motor Cars in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain, today welcomes the arrival of the Rolls-Royce Ghost to the Capital for its premiere in the United Arab Emirates. Ghost is a vision of simplicity – taking the core values of Rolls-Royce and creating contemporary effortless luxury.

Achieving a new dynamism while remaining true to its heritage, Ghost projects a more informal presence than the Phantom with an even greater emphasis on driving.

Tom Purves, CEO of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars said: “Ghost embodies 21st-century Rolls-Royce: more than 100 years of engineering and design excellence expressed in a modern and uncompromised style. The more informal design broadens the appeal of Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, attracting people who appreciate its fusion of refinement, new technology and contemporary style.”

Arno Husselmann, General Manager of Abu Dhabi Motors said: “We are delighted and honoured to be able to premiere the highly anticipated Rolls-Royce Ghost in the UAE. This modern classic has already attracted great interest universally and will ensure the continued success of Rolls-Royce in the UAE. As the number one Rolls-Royce dealership in the world in 2008, Abu Dhabi Motors has a proven record of continually delivering excellence - from our luxury and premium brands, to the unmatched quality of service we provide our uncompromising clientele.”

Ghost delivers superlative levels of comfort while delivering the most modern, dynamically entertaining drive ever in a Rolls- Royce. It is powered by a brand new, 6.6 litre twin-turbo V12 engine, unique to the model.

Featuring direct injection, it produces 563bhp – enough to propel Ghost from 0-60 mph in just 4.7 seconds and on to an electronically governed top speed of 155mph. With 780 Nm of torque available at just 1,500rpm, the delivery of power is immediate yet extremely smooth.
Ghost is also the most powerful car that Rolls-Royce Motor Cars has ever produced. However, Rolls-Royce power is delivered in a very different manner to other cars. It arrives in an elegant, cosseting way that often is described as waftability. This delivery of power has become an engineering signature, seemingly effortless and endless.

Ghost has been engineered to ride and drive in peerless fashion. The chassis’ poise delivers a dynamically engaging experience for the driver, yet a serene, comfortable ride for passengers. In addition, the double-wishbone front suspension and multi-link rear suspension work with an intelligent, four-cornered, air-suspension system and electronic variable damping to deliver the refinement that has been associated with Rolls-Royce for more than 100 years. The new air suspension system in Ghost is so sensitive that it can detect even the smallest of changes. For example, it will sense the movement of a single rear passenger from one side of the seat to the other and compensate accordingly.

The design of Ghost is founded in simplicity and elegance. Inspired by the 1930’s, including its contempary furniture, architecture, yachts and spirit – its sense of adventure and endeavour – Ghost exudes an informal aura, blending flowing lines and powerful definition with traditional Rolls-Royce design cues such as elevated prow and long bonnet.

Contemporary touches include Xenon headlights, self-righting wheel centres and an air grille more reminiscent of a jet intake than the classic parthenon style, while the latest in-car technology falls easily to hand while forming part of the flawlessly luxurious background.

Inside Ghost, the interior design team has come up with a contemporary ambience while staying true to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ traditions of fine materials and unrivalled comfort. There are elegant, frosted lamps and chrome door handles, traditional violin key switches and eyeball air vents, frosted white dials and refined instrumentation. Deep-pile carpets can be complemented by optional lambswool floor mats for a truly luxurious feel.

A contrasting Silver Satin finish (introduced on 200EX) is an option for the bonnet, grille and windscreen surround. The finish is achieved by setting silver metallic paint under a layer of lacquer, giving a flawless matte finish.

Ghost is a modern execution of timeless Rolls-Royce elegance, widening its appeal beyond the purely traditional but retaining the core values that make the Rolls-Royce marque unique and cherished.

Not a bad choice - looks like it has quite a bit of fender gap like an suv. I am sure there is a plow option.
