Not of fan of the 18s. They kinda look undersized and looks like they're covered in brake dust.
I get comments on the 19s all the time. People are surprised it isn't an aftermarket wheel.

From an unbiased observer, 19 inch rims >>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 18 inch rims.
I heard the chief test engineer of M3 saying in a video for BMW Australia that the 19 inch one's are meant for "best performance" while the 18 inch one's are for "more comfort and ease in everyday life". I saw both of them in real life just a few days ago. One with the 18 inch one's are disappointingly bland. The grey shade really makes them look unnoticeable and almost too small. I saw a red coupe with the 19 inch rims yesterday with the front wheel turned other way slightly and it looked so aggressive. It screamed "sports car" to me while the 18 inch rims did not. |

Yup. Some guys like myself just feel there's something more special about the 18's. And vice-versa. |

Almost all the testing done at the ring was conducted on 18" rims, it's the driver's choice. |

I got the 18s for winter and track use. I'm thinking of getting them painted black. What do you guys think?

I did select the 19s: last minute options' change! But I DO like the 18s and had selected them; and if I'd got a Space Grey I would have got 18s. And yes: the serious track wheels are the 18s Bit like EDC: fastest track option typically is not the hardest settiing, ie, Sport Plus

I have the 19's and will be selling them due to the high cost of 19" tires. I had to pay $500 for a single tire (nail) where I can get some decent 18" tires around $250 each. Since I like to track my car plus drive hard, I'm going with the 18's. If tire price was equal, I would stick with the 19's as they look good on black cars...

I went to the dealership to see my car close up and sit in it. Up close and on a sunny day they look great on IB! For a split second I almost regretted going for the RACs.
I guess I'll just have to alternate the wheels weekly!!

I love both the 18s and the 19s, but just preferred the 19s. No big deal really, both wheels look amazing to me. My friend Nawaaz has the 18s and his car is IB and I think that color is best suited with the 18s

18's look mean on SS2 e90. 19's are too bling-bling for me. And they *hide* brake dust. |

The 19's are beautiful wheels, and would be a type/style of wheel I'd buy if they were an aftermarket choice.

Yes they do, since they look like brake dust all the time, clean or dirty. Actually, the 19s do a pretty good job of that too, since the inner panes and barrel surfaces are powder-coated a dark titanium color.

Ack... this thread is making things even tougher - both sides have been respectful and made good points. I have struggled with this decision for over 3 months. At first, I was all about the 19s, just looked, well, like a better fit for the car - just defaulted to the 19s. Then, I saw a pic of the 18s with spacers: more aggressive, meaner - and, hey, $ in my pocket towards the performance steering wheel and cheaper replacement tires. They were better looking than I initially gave them credit and grew on me even more. The 18s make more sense economically, and the ride would probably be a bit better on these f'ed up DC roads, etc etc... but even with all those points the rational side of my brain makes - the frosted-side reminds me I do like the look of the 19s a bit more. AHHHHHHH!!!!!!
