Updates:
First sample arrives tomorrow, the second one should be end of the week. I'm also looking to make OEM replacement tips that will also act as the tips on the exhaust. So I should have samples in a bit. If I make OEM replacement tips the cost should be around $150 shipped for a set of 4. In Colors Polished, Gloss Black, and Matte Black... I don't think i'll do blue burnt tips |

Huge Update Today Guys
I just received the first sample in the mail and immediately took it out of the packaging to take pictures! Things I'd like to note about this sample: - Quality looks top notch, welds look good. - The finish they put on looks great and expensive, from my understanding they sandblasted it. - Tips are just placeholders, I will not use these for production. - The packaging was very sub-par, this is something I will 100% address for the future. - S304 Piping w/ 3inch Diameter Note: I took a wet towel to wipe it down, and immediately took pictures, so you can still see the streak marks Here's the link to the full photo album: https://flic.kr/s/aHsmh7bQHE And some pictures embeded: IMG_20180626_144021 IMG_20180626_144036 IMG_20180626_144126 IMG_20180626_144213 |

i guess im confused as to how the system is actually working. When you hit the button for the valve to open, what exactly is happening? exhaust gas is still going through the muffler but essentially straight piped through? im assuming its not bypassing muffler entirely bc of location of the valve mechanism near the tips.

Also interested if it sounds nice with no drone.
How does it work exactly? Press a button on a fob, or from the rpm or what? E92, Frozen Silver, ZCP, All Black Bits |

The way it works is Imagine a Y pipe and one of the end is being closed off only allowing exit through one pipe. When it's open the design becomes a little more straight through. When closed it also almost acts like a helmholtz chamber causing it to have minimal drone and volume lower. Quote:
Most valvetronic systems on the market use the vacuum valve design which is hooked up to your rpm's and fob. Mine has an electronic valve which is only hooked up to a power source. Easier installation and mechanically better. It is based off of the F80 valve design. The only valved exhaust using electronic cutouts is the Evolve one, and this electronic design is superior and less bulky. Of course if everyone wanted a vacuum design instead of this electronic one, it would be actually save me a few bucks as this electronic one is more expensive. (But not enough to change the selling price). On a Side note I will try to get some sound clips of my Catless 4x Resonator x pipe w/ MPE and then swap the MPE for this exhaust so you can hear the difference. I'm planning on finding someone with a stock E90 setup so you can hear just the rear section as well. |

Electronic design >>>>> vacuum design
It's best not to mess with the car's vacuum system! My Evolve valvetronic uses qtp actuators but I've found they die quite quickly. At least they are easy to replace |

Yes great job with the follow through as alot of ideas seem to die on here. Piece does look great. Can't wait to hear how it sounds. Also in to see how the fitment is. Various installed photos would be great. What were you thinking for the tips on final production?

Installed the Exhaust today and only put a couple miles on it
I am currently catless and will install on a stock x pipe car (I lent someone my stock x pipe for a week). Installation: The Fitment was actually pretty good, we only really ran into one issue which took up half the install time. The hardest part was getting the rubber mounts on the hangers. There's not much to say about the installation really as it wasn't too much trouble. We drilled holes in the trunk to feed the wire to the battery which was very simple, and the only modification needed. For those wondering specifically, it's underneath the cargo carpet and in the plastic area beneath. Sound: The sound actually surprised me. I've listened to a bunch of videos and have had a few setups on my car to somewhat grasp the tone, and prior I am catless w/ MPE. It's funny, with the MPE you couldn't hear the revs dropping, but you can hear it with this in both settings. Valves Closed: Roughly 20% quieter than my MPE, but the tone was different. It sounds like a tamed Corsa Exhaust (I had the RSC mufflers on my S4 so I know what the tone is). I think there's actually less drone than my MPE and barely any at all. Almost like I wasn't catless... which is pretty amazing. Valves Open: This surprised me the most. It's drastically louder with the valves open and the tone completely changed. Much Much deeper and louder. Close to a Meistershaft exhaust sound I would guess... I would also like to note it sounds completely different to Armytrix and IPE I live in DTLA, and go to West LA pretty often and anyone is welcome to come hear the exhaust. Also remember that these tips are just placeholders! Edit: I forget to mention how fun it is to press open and close on the valves while you're driving haha IMG_20180627_140918 IMG_20180627_133602 IMG_20180627_133443 IMG_20180627_133431 Last edited by Bomiz; 06-27-2018 at 11:37 PM.. |

Awesome progress. I can't wait to hear this. Sounds different from the IPE and Arymttix has my attention.
20% less volume than the MPE is like having no exhaust volume. |

Very interested...
If you're fully catless it's normal that 'open' is loud as hell. Personally I'm fine with 'closed' being MPE-level and 'open' being really loud |

Starting to really gain my interest if that's the case! I love my exhaust now but having the opportunity to go full on reckless is appealing!
