My car has entered production (week10) and I should expect delivery....well whenever.
Remember official release date is the 8th, so he should be getting his car prolly like the end of next week. I will expect you should be able to go to the dealer after the 8th and test drive their demo. |

I initially went to Passport in November, 2007 and was told that they were not taking orders on the car at that time. I called again in mid January, 2008 and was told by my sales guy that they were now taking orders but my car would not be delivered until Sep 2008. Confused, I asked how could you go from not taking orders in late 11/2007 to taking orders in early 1/2008 and come up with a delivery of Sep 2008? I got a B.S. answer.
Early 2/2008 I went to VOB and was told that they had a status 111 that could take delivery March or April latest. Because I opted for DCT, I had to wait longer. I made a deposit and was told that I would probably finalize my specs by late march when BMW allocates the next round of DCT's. Basically, the wait is killing me. |

passport wasn't taking orders but definitely were doing waitlist. As far as i've heard they had almost 30 people on the waitlist (myself included). VOB is alright but i would still say passport ftw.

I originally went to sterling in jan 07 and was put on the list but since they had no centralized list I also put a deposit down at Passport in April. I started the list at passport at #5 and over time moved down to #3. I took my name off the list at sterling cause they never provided me any information, passport was much more helpful. When I recently talked to rep at passport he told me there were over 60 people on the list.

Guys - sorry I've been out of touch lately but I placed my order a few weeks ago with Passport and am presently scheduled for Week 11 production. I called BMW and confirmed that my car is set to begin production early next week. I was trying to put this out of my mind (the wait has been driving me crazy), but now that my car is about to be in the works, I'm sure I'll be calling BMW constantly and then stalking the ships as they come to the US.

My car is also on the boat, but like in the other thread I am surprised that even with a waitlist they had a car for public sale. Honestly I would be pissed that I was waiting and they had a car present to be sold to the highest bidder, good for sales but not for customer relations.

I have a coupe awaiting production but after seeing the sedan, I'm tempted to wait for a sedan with M-DCT. I've waited years for this car and to wait 4 more months will kill me.
