Wheel bearing changed....LIMP MODE.. HELP
Just changed a rear wheel bearing, drove 30 seconds and check engine light came on, limp mode. No other lights, just engine malfunction. What could we have done wrong during the bearing install?

i just did a complete brake job on my wife's 335, and i noticed the rear brake sensors that tuck up under the wheel well are the same clips as the brake sensors. are you sure you plugged them back in correctly?

Gonna check tomorrow morning, I have the feeling it has something to do with the brake-speed sensor probably not put in correctly

Have an OBD II reader? If not, I’d invest in one, but I’m betting sensors not in correctly as well.

are you sure u installed the bearing correctly? one side of the bearing has the integrated reluctor wheel which has to line up with the wheel speed sensor. if u installed in wrong, youre going to have to do the job all over again and probably buy another bearing

Sorry to waken an old thread.
I also had a right rear wheel bearing changed at the dealership. They said that the ABS sensor is not present. Now I know I damaged it (Cut the wire in half) after exploding a tire at the drift track. I put the wires back together and has worked since. I took it in, they changed the wheel bearing and now it doesn't work. So I changed the sensor and it still does not work. They said I need a new axle because that's where the reluctor ring is. You're saying it is integrated into the wheel bearing. Does anyone know how this system works in the rear of our cars? They want $1000 to replace the axle. I don't want to spend that if it is actually a wheel bearing that they installed wrong. |
