Possible exhaust leak
Hi, I have read quite a few posts about the noise these motors make at idle. I do feel like mine is especially loud. Rod bearings were recently done. Here is a clip after it's been sitting for about 20 minutes.
And then after a 10 minute drive. To me is seems like maybe it is a gasket that expands more once warm. Certainly coming more from the underside. Any thoughts? TIA |

Thanks, wow a bit crazy that it is that loud. In the morning it is borderline embarrassing as it sounds like a clunker. Glad it is nothing to be alarmed about but still might check it out more on a lift.
Does the BMC make this sound worse? The previous also said the felt lined undertray was replaced by the aluminum one or something else aftermarket. He thought that might make it louder. |

You can have cold start deleted with a tune if desired.. it'll warm up a lot slower though

Not to my knowledge. A custom valved exhaust with a primary cat delete/cold start delete with a tune would what be your best bet and what I would recommend for the car and your desired capability.

Cold start warms up the cats. I doesn't have a meaningful impact on how quickly the car warms up if you're driving it.

Correct but custom tunes limit max rpm which slowly increases until the car gets to temperature which on short drives often never happens.
