Improper tow of a DCT M3

An E92 M3 was illegally parked in my spot (I guess our cars are getting pretty common ...) and I was about this close to having their ass towed. But I noticed the guy had a DCT and, as pissed as I was, the thought of a tow truck improperly towing this car (front up, instead of flat bed) and jacking up the tranny ..... I parked my car on the street and left a nasty note instead on the windshield.

Does anyone know the actual effect on the car? And are tow companies at all liable for this kind of damage?

PS - If you are that Northern California SS E92 that parked in space 114 last night, be happy it's Lent and I'm a fellow M owner.

I would've towed it anyway, fuck the guy it's disrespectful and I bet he won't even appreciate your kindness in being a bit rational in a totally unnecessary situation

It wouldn't have damaged the car as they would have to use dollies to move it. I have a DCT and have been towed a few times so far........but it wasn't me in your spot last night. LOL

I am so paranoid of being towed front up/without dollies/without flatbed that I never park in an area where there is a remote chance I will get towed. *shudder

Do you think this SS M3 owner possibly knows you/knows of you? it seems like a coincidence that another M3 would park in your spot

It just amazes me that someone with a nice car would chance parking in a tow away zone. I'd much rather take my chance parking on the street rather than worry about my car being towed and possibly damaged, not to mention vandalized. In my complex there were a rash of slashed tires on cars parked illegally.
