My key fob went thru a cycle of washer and dryer!

I launder my keys with my m3 key fob in my jacket thru a cycle of washer and dryer, I found out only after I took my jacket out of the dryer, and am pleasantly surprised that it still works without a glitch!

Wouldn't it be easier to run your key fob through the dish washer? It comes out clean and dry. Don't try the garbage disposal though.

Hmm, mine could use a clean too!

Poll;

1. Dishwasher
2. Washer/dryer
3. Drycleaning

So the one thing about the M3 no-one can bitch about is the durability of the key fobs!

Did you get pushed into the pool with a key in your pocket?

No joke: I left my fob on the bathroom sink's counter while I was detailing a car. I came back to find out my cat jumped onto the sink counter and pushed the fob into the toilet. It was probably in the toilet for a good 8 hours and still works perfectly to this day.

The fact that these keys work after washer, toilet, etc. is amazing.

Just last night I was doing laundry after running and briefly thought I had left my fob in the zipper pocket of my running shorts that were immersed in warm sudsy water at the time. I jumped right out of my chair but as it turned out the fob was safe and dry.

We should conduct military endurance test on the key fob such as soaking them in salt water or spraying salt water and such at them for hours. Then we can conclude we have milspec key fobs.

My wife lost the key fob while walking the dog during a snow storm last year and this past summer someone found it and brought it to the BMW dealer and they contacted us and it works like a champ.

You should have let your cat drive your cat...he was mad. Good thing he didn't flush the toilet.
