I actually called my dealer and had him add the competition package a couple days ago..
After sitting on my decision for a little, I had to call back and tell him to put the OEM 19's on, no competition package. I drive NYC roads a good amount, and pretty much everywhere else around the tri-state. The fact that the competition wheels are cast (and not forged) means I have to be that much more careful about potholes. That and combined with a stiffer suspension, and I feel like the car will be a little too rough coming off the lot. It's opinion. If you can stand a stiffer ride and don't have to worry about lumberjack-sized potholes and poor road quality, then I don't see why you shouldn't get them. If you're concerned about any of these things, you may want to reconsider as I did. I LOVE the look of the competition wheels, just not for NYC daily driving!!!

I added it, and had no change in production. Then I deleted it and opted for OEM 19's 220m.... Production week stayed the same, nothing changed. Either my dealer had allocation slots for both types, or he didn't catch it, but on my end everything remained the same.

That's the explanation why 'only' $550. It's a big downgrade (forged to cast), which I wouldn't take even for free. The car is already low and stiff enough for the great majority of us. It's called the 'competition package' for a reason .

I would've gotten it tbh.
Pics 2 posts above look great. Not that a M3 wouldn't look good without it.. but still. If you're in the financial position to comfortably afford it.. get it man! |
