Rocks stuck the brake shield

General rant. On my coupe it happened a bit just happened on my convertible. Any suggestions how to get them out without taking off the tire ? It sounds like crap.

Get a screwdriver and push back on the edge of the brake shield.

This happened on my x3 and was SO annoying. The screwdriver trick didn't work for me... but I just drove it for about a mile and it popped out on its own. now I'm more careful driving in gravel.

Probably... a screwdriver jammed in there will do damage if driven.
