Was removing cold start worth it?
Just placed an order for a hfc x pipe and was wondering if I should include in my tune the option to remove cold start. I heard that when I get my car serviced, the people will know I tuned my car due to this. Is that true?
How bad is the cold start with a somewhat loud exhaust and x pipe? Does the cold start affect the HFC? any input would help! thanks

honestly i think removing the cold start is all personal preference... for me, after i add my race x pipe, i will not be removing the cold start since i love the huge roar when i start my car! i mean its loud, so i may wake some neighbors up, but when i leave for work, thats when people should be waking up anyways!

I dont think it would be worth removing. Car sounds WAY too good upon that first fire up. More so when you have a full exhaust. Sounds like a boat! Its great.

Ok ok. Fill me in, cold start?
My E92 is like a bucking bronco pulling out of the condo. Are you saying this is some feature that can be removed? Thanks...sorry if noobish question...

I removed it and have no regrets. I loved it with OEM exhaust but when I switched to Akra Evo the cold start was obnoxious. It had a low resonance that was not pleasing. Some other exhaust systems may have different results.

Much quieter for neighbors/my own family when I leave early. Smoother at start up, but definitely more smell at start up. If it weren't for neighbor courtesy, would keep cold start enabled.

Funny thing, I removed mine, and two days later I received an anonymous letter from a neighbor about my "noisy blue car." Ironic that it was the most quiet my car has been on start-up. ever.

absolutley worth it why? i live in a large lot community where everyone is on at least 1 acre. mine is 1.1 acres. the car parks in the bay at the red x. just how far is the noise going to travel that it is an issue? i understand condos, apartments, zero lot line homes and everyone that lives on top of each other where houses are all shoehorned onto little lots, but we are spread out, and my garages all surround a small courtyard. the sound in the video above sounds badass. bmw installed cold start for a reason. if you are not going to bother your neighbors, why is it "absolutely worth it"?
