My car stands out more than any other 3 series maybe because it isn't stock..

I just hate the fact how it looks like a fake ass e92..

I was planning to get the 1 series over the 3 series before the 1 series even came out. Thank god I didn't get order it.

Can't remember if it was an A5 or A4 where I first saw it coming at me with the LED's. I was like "Man, that's pretty kewl."

Then, he hit the turn signal. And the LED strip blinks alternately with the blinker. Just looked dumb as hell to me. I actually said "lame" out loud.

The 1-Series needs a refresh, or just full model overhaul. The way it looks now kind of brings down the BMW brand IMO.

Real Men don't "refresh", they go mad with design.

1 series maybe ugly but the 3 series is even uglier.
There I said it. I said what every other 1 onwer was thinking when they bought this car, that the 3 series was the bigger, heavier uglier sister.

Yes the 3 series may be ugly. But the ratio of extra useable space to actual weight difference is ludicrous. I was on the waiting list for the 1er until they released the weight figures. Total fail on BMW's part, especially after all the hype.

Has anyone done a high-level poll to determine of the 1-series haters, how many are 3-series owners vs. everyone else? Just curious as to whether there is a noteable amount of bias in either direction.

My initial real-life observations:

When I was at the dealer last week to first test drive the 1 series, guess which car had the most amount of customers admiring it? The 1-series

Guess which car 2 of the salesmen had on order: The 1-series

Guess which car all my co-workers prefer (based on looks) after seeing my 135 parked next to my boss' 335xi? My 135... also, I work for a CPA firm where many of my co-workers tend to be more conservative in their style preferences.

Do any of these observations mean one is better or prettier than the other? Of course not.

I'm just trying to point out that while some may find the 1-series to be ugly, I have found in my short-lived experience with the car thus far that people are not reacting in the "OMG that car is so fugly" manner that I keep reading.

I love both the 1 and 3 series but to me, other than the M3, the 1-series is the best looking in the new BMW line-up. Of course, the shoe-box is also one of my favorites!

I like the 1 except for the headlights. The interior looks rather cheap especially when a well equipped/loaded 135i is approaching 51k. Yes I realize the 3 interior is not the king of luxury but it is a noticeable step up from the 1. The new placement of the NAV screen looks like an afterthought as well. The flip up worked better in the 1.
