By the way, for those of you who live in the tri-state area, the store where I went (located in Garfield, NJ; www.stableenergies.com), which has been around since 1975, had a great selection of material and the owners are extremely competent and nice!! I highly recommend them!!

If you are just doing DE's with your stock seats and seatbelts then don't worry about a HANS....just get a helmet that fits well some shoes and maybe gloves...you really don't need a full suit for DE....
Hopefully you can go to the shop that has several different helmets available in your price range...try them all on and see how they feel......for some reason Bell helmets just fit me well....I tried the fancy CF helmet..but it didn't fit as well as the Bell M4 I bought.... Once you get a dedicated track-race car that has a cage and race seat...thats when its time to get the drivers suit etc....I just bought a Sparco F1 suit.....triple layer and extremely lightweight and cool to boot!! http://www.sparcousa.com/pracewear_suits.asp?id=647 Luckily for me it was 20% off!!!

Look at Simpson Racing (www.TeamSimpson.com). They have a wide variety of suits, helmets, gloves, shoes and Hans Devices. Good luck!
