Sport Edition winter setup pics
Alot of people wanted to see this so I thought I would post some pics.
This is my winter TireRack setup. Dunlop Winter Sport M3 on Sport Edition wheels. 245/40/R18 Front and 255/40/R18 Rear. Rims are Tire Rack Sport Edition A7, 8" in the front and 9" in the rear. BMW center caps snapped right in. The summer 265 is on the right for comparison. Time to clean the pipes. I like the extra dish on the rear wheels. My ultimate winter solution is in the background!! If I was to drive the car on DEEP snow days I would have went with narrower tires. I did't get the TPMS. Apparently the Canadian spec'ed version uses the ABS. The BMW parts dept dosn't even list a wheel TPMS for my VIN number so I hope the light dosn't go on! Thx Ben for putting this together for me. Odd Jobs. Thank you so much for taking the time to post. I wasn't sure how the wheels would look, so I was afraid to order them. I think they look very nice. A big plus for these wheels will be winter cleaning. It's bad enough to be outside washing a car in the cold, but at least these wheels look very easy to clean.
Time to order! |

I don't have any more pics for now. I just tried on one side to make sure they fit before the snow hits. They won't go back on for couple more weeks. You can see some green grass sneaking into the last pic!! JL |

Looks pretty good, but it's a little early our weather has been ok so far. You should enjoy the PS2's while you can, I'm hoping for another two weeks before we get any serious snow!

Haha yeah I guess I did miss that. Good call, I'm not planning on switching tires on any cars until the end of the month, but knowing Calgary that could change very quickly.

Are those the same as the ASA JH3 wheels TR used to sell? Friends run those for the winter on their cars -- '03 530i and '03 Lexus LS430. I also had them on my (recently-totaled) '07 335i. VERY easy to keep clean, and I liked being able to see through the spokes so easily and see all the brake hardware. And the M3 hardware is even nicer to look at.
FWIW, I had the Dunlops on my 335i, and the car was awesome in ice & snow. Are there other winter wheels people have seen? The Sport Editions seem to be the only thing I can find.

Looks real nice.
I will probably order the same from TR. Did you have to pay GST/PST or any Customs duties ? Thanks Peter
